RICHARD ERNEST FORTNER

Mr. Fortner, 77, died Aug. 5, 2000, at a local care center. He was a dental prosthetic technician and served in the Navy from 1941 to 1945.

Mr. Fortner was born Sept. 9, 1922, in Toledo, Ohio, to Gene and Ella (Crowner) Fortner, who are deceased. He was married July 17, 1943, to Mary Jane Patterson.

He is survived by his wife; four sons, Michael, Gerard, Richard and Mark; three daughters, Connie Mount, Cathy Martin and Charity Blaser; a sister, Victoria Bureau; 22 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six children.

A vigil will be at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of the Pines Church, 11020 Teachout Road, Black Forest. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of the Pines Church. Colorado Springs Mortuary and Cremation Services, 3475 Astrozon Court, 392-4144, is handling arrangements.
