I have found that hurtful words are far worse than hurtful actions. They can never be taken back, and will lie between people bubbling just under the surface, waiting for a chance to erupt again. Words are truly mightier than a sword as they can cut deeper and quicker and more painfully than any other weapon known to man. Though, words are also what soften the wound and in some rare instances, even heal it. It is a beautiful person that can open themselves up to the love and kindness of the softly spoken word, the one said in friendship, that allows the harsh and angry words to flow away from them. That we could all be that way........
The Eagle and the Wolf
There is a great battle that rages inside me. One side is the soaring eagle. Everything the eagle stands for is good and true and beautiful, and it soars above the clouds.
Even though it dips down into the valleys, it lays its eggs on the mountaintops.
The other side of me is the howling wolf. And that raging, howling wolf represents the worst that's in me.
He eats upon my downfalls and justifies himself by his presence in the pack.
Who wins this great battle?
The one I feed.
