On to the database! This database is a compilation of data about the descendants of Nicolas FAIN, and 2 different William FAINs and Richard FAIN. I realize that there are other similiar compilations out there. I would love to contact these people.
This data base has grown out of my search for the birth parents of my greatgrandfather Samuel Franklin FAIN. His parents apparently died when he was very young and he was raised for a while by Jasen FAIN. When Samuel was 16, guardianship was granted to Thomas Madison FAIN. Samuel lived with Thomas and family until the start of the Civil War. After he was discharged from the Army he lived in Alabama with or near Thomas until 1775. In 1775 Samuel and his first wife Mary Cymantha YORK moved to Texas. His life in Texas is well documented. Apparently Samuel Franklin FAIN organized a company of Home Guards in Alabama in 1862,. It was known as "Fains Company".
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
