Rusty's LambdaMOO Web Index

Russell Brown edited these pages from one generated at LambdaMOO by MOO-code that he [Rusty (#48961)] wrote. The code assembles web contact information which individual players have entered into the LambdaMOO database and formats it in HTML. They have provided this private information to help build and maintain the community at LambdaMOO. Anyone who does not already have a personal relationship with the person e contacts who uses the information here for any non-LambdaMOO purpose violates the MOOers' privacy and the LambdaMOO community and such use is strictly forbidden. Commercial use of this contact information is expressly prohibited.

Miscellaneous LambdaMOOers
All the bad URLs and the folks for whom I have a URL, but don't know which LambdaMOOer they are. I am sure that almost all of them have a URL, but I need your help connecting LambdaMOOer to Web location. If there are bad URLs on other pages which should be moved to here, let me know. And if you know of a LambdaMOOer who has a web page who is not listed in these pages let me know that too.
LambdaMOOers before #50000
The LambdaMOOers of longest standing, the dinosaurs of LambdaMOO. LambdaMOO first opened in 1990 on October 30. Some of these folks joined back in those opening days; all signed on before October of 1992 which was about 4 months before first connect times were first recorded. This makes them older than dirt.
LambdaMOOers between #50000 and #59999
LambdaMOOers whose object-IDs are in the fifty-thousand range signed on in the year between the end of September of 1992 and the end of October in 1993. Some preceded the recording of first connections in January of 1993; most however have a recorded first connection time.
LambdaMOOers between #60000 and #69999
These LambdaMOOers joined in the relatively brief time between the end of October 1993 and St. Valentine's day of 1994. They began the great influx which changed the fabric of LambdaMOO and resulted in petitions calling for managed population reduction.  It should be noted that a higher proportion of each successive 10,000-object range went toward player creation.  So while the periods are shorter, the number joining in each period is larger.
LambdaMOOers between #70000 and #79999
LambdaMOOers in this range joined in just over six weeks between February 14 and March 28 for 1994.  Minimal Population Growth (#75104), the first petition to slow the rate of growth, was proposed on March 16.  It was estimated then that 50 new players were joining each day.
LambdaMOOers between #80000 and #89999
LambdaMOOers in this range joined between March 28 and September 13, 1994.  On May 2, #74014 went into effect, slowing the number of new players per day to five.  Subsequent ballots slowed population growth even further.
LambdaMOOers between #90000 and #99999
LambdaMOOers in this range joined between September 13, 1994 and March 20 1995.
LambdaMOOers between #100000 and #109999
These LambdaMOOers joined between March 20, 1995 and December 7, 1996.
LambdaMOOers beyond #110000
The newest LambdaMOOers have joined since December 7, 1996.

LambdaMOO

For things related to LambdaMOO other than LambdaMOOers' personal web sites. LambdaMOO was started by Pavel Curtis (Haakon #2 | Lambda #50) on equipment provided by Xerox, his employer.  Eventually it was moved to a Sun Sparkstation sponsored and housed by Xerox PARC (Palo Alto Research Center).  When Mr. Curtis was hired by PlaceWare, LambdaMOO moved to a Sparkstation at Stanford University.  PlaceWare sponsors the LambdaMOO server at Stanford.

This is an important incident in the history of LambdaMOO, and the publication of the article in somewhat different form in The Village Voice deeply affected the way non-MOOers and prospective MOOers perceive LambdaMOO.
