Gary Oldman

Gary Oldman

In my humble opinion, Gary Oldman is one of the best, if not the best, actor in hollywood today. The only one I can think of worthy enough to be a contender to this position, would be Kevin Spacey. Unfortunately, thanks to his reputation, Gary Oldman gets typecast as the villain. I've only once seen him play a good guy, in Romeo is Bleeding, a totally excellent movie ( mind you, I haven't seen all of his movies ). But he does seem to fit perfectly into these roles. I think he would have made a much better Iago in the recent version of Othello, than dear old Kenny Branagh. To date, he has played the bad guy in Bram Stoker's Dracula, Air force one, Leon, The Fifth Element, Lost in Space, and JFK
