Life isn't a Miss Popular-contest.

It's nice to be liked by everybody around you. But that is not the most important thing in the world. Whatever you do and whatever you say, there is always going to be somebody that doesn't like you - no matter how cute and nice you are towards everybody.
To be fair and nice is one thing. But watch out so you don't dedicate your life to "being there for everyone" and make sure that everybody feels alright without putting any demands on yourself. There is no reason to be "nice" if you don't feel ok with it. Nobody is going to be happier because you are not feeling good.
