First Love

This poem is dedicated to my first and only love

From the very beginning I knew you were the one

I seen you in the moonlight my heart you truly won

We made love together like the nights would never end

You were my first ever, truly faithful friend

We traveled on our path that was hidden from our sight

But with you I always believed that things would turn out right

My heart was given completely on our wedding day

Although others had their doubts my Love was yours to stay

We had great times and hard times and times we will not mention

But through it all I’ve found that love was my redemption

I made many mistakes I wish I could change it all

From that day we left my heart began to fall

It broke in many pieces and lay upon the floor

And when we came back to you, you up and slammed the door

I am sorry if I hurt you my mind was twisted so

But this poem is to tell you my Love will never go

I wish I had been ready for the Love we had back then

Too young to face the trials and loss that had began

I think of you so often my tears they flow to fast

I am glad I can finally open my heart again at last

So my Love this poem is to you so hear my words I pray

My Love and heart is always yours from that first and happy day

Hurt and pain can be forgotten and hearts can be mended too

My Love for you burns still today because it was always true
