A TRIP OUT OF THE CITY....

After our morning trip to McDonalds and watching the temperature rise rapidly toward the 90 degree mark, we managed to get a hung over Tess out of bed and dressed and into Tim's car for a drive to Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam.
The drive out was beautiful (thank god for air conditioning in the car), we got to see the hills and suburbs of Las Vegas. It was nice to get away from the noise of the slot machines for a bit. We went to the Marina at Lake Mead with the hopes of getting a cruise to the Hoover Dam, but we missed the boat so to speak. Was not a wasted trip however, as we managed to fit in a very important scientific study.

These are carp. They follow you as you walk up and down the dock. They are also hungry. We did a little study at this point, the results of which are top secret. Do you think you know which flavor of popcorn these hungry guys prefer?? Plain or Cheese Flavored??? LOAO

Here's Tim as usual, making friends with the "chicks".....LOL This is Lake Mead.

And here is the hung over Tess !! Never too hungover to enjoy a bowl of chocolate mint icecream though !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After our brief stay at the Marina, we got back into the car (and out of the extreme heat), and headed to the Hoover Dam. What an incredible site.

This is the view from way up top..........breathtaking...................
We had a bite to eat in the cafeteria here, and then walked back to the car for the drive back to our Hotel. What a great way to spend the day, and thanks again Tim for being our Tour Guide/Taxi Driver.......was very much appreciated.
By the late afternoon Tess had had enough (she was still feeling under the weather), and Tim was tired from his escapades the night before and from driving all day. Tim went home, Tess went to bed and watched TV, and I got treated to a great dinner out with Roger. We went for Chinese Food and it was excellent !! We even brought home a TESSIE bag full of leftovers (complete with chopsticks)...LOL.
