OUR LAST DAY............
Saturday, May 29, 1999
My last trip downstairs for Egg McMuffins, Hashbrowns, Coffee, Orange Juice and a bag full of beanie babies (final count 44).....and the last morning eating breakfast with Roger and playing crib (and getting my butt kicked at it too).
We spent the morning packing (Tess and I were spending Saturday night at Tim's), and then went downstairs to the lounge to have our last drinks with our favorite bartenders. FB has a few "chick" moments....not wanting Roger to go back home to England. We just sat quietly at the bar thinking about the time we got to spend getting to know each other "off-line". Before long, it was time to get ourselves ready to check out.
On the way to Tim's, we stopped off at a place that had miniature golf and Roger and I sat in the shade (it was very hot outside) while Tess and Tim played a round (of golf that is..lol). While we were sitting outside practically dying from the heat, I decided to be a smart-ass and put an icecube from my icewater down Rogers shirt to cool him off. In the process, I managed to tip over my very large glass of ice water so that it poured all down my legs.....hmmmmm.... who was laughing now?? Actually, it was great.... it cooled me off!!

Looks more like hockey than golf you two !!
After golfing, we stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few things for Rogers long journey home, and then went back to Tims place. We had a few drinks, played on the computer a bit, I had a few more "chick" moments, and then we went out for dinner. After dinner, we went to the pub to play some pool. Tess and Tim played a few, and then Roger and Tim played a couple of games. It was a nice way to lighten up the mood of the evening, as it was the end of our holiday and we didn't want it to be over.

Here they are playing pool....they ended up tied one game each, so I guess they'll have to meet up again someday for a tie breaker. Hope I'm there to watch that one too.
Well, it's time to get Roger to the airport. His flight leaves at 12:15. We have a quiet drive to the airport and get him checked in. Then we went and had a drink at the airport bar. Roger had barely finished his drink and it was time for him to go board his plane. We said our goodbyes and he was off. FB headed back to the bar to finish her wine with Tess and Tim and have a good cry. We went back to Tim's place, where FB promptly crashed on the couch, Tim crashed on his bed, and Tess played on the computer until 4:00am...lol.

Tim and I were the first ones to wake up and just sat in his living room and watched TV for a little while. Our flight was scheduled to leave at noon so we had to be at the airport by 11:00. We woke Tess up around 10:00, we sat and talked for a bit and then gathered up our belongings and headed out to the car, and, at this point, Tess discovers she can't find her sunglasses (the new ones she bought at the Vancouver Airport on the way out here). After searching high and low, we finally give up and a slightly hungover and tired pissed off Tess gets in the car. We have a quiet ride to the airport and get checked in. Tess finally decides to gamble at the airport and wins $ 25.00 on a slot machine. She heads directly for the store to buy treats for the flight home. We say our goodbyes to Tim (more tears) and board the plane for our short uneventful flight to LA. We manage to kill an hour walking around the LA airport, then catch our flight to Vancouver. The brave FB (a result of tranqs) decided to take the window seat this time, as Tess was going to sleep on this flight. I watched out the window the entire flight home and thoroughly enjoyed it. The pilot made little announcements along the way and pointed out things to see like Crater Lake. It was absolutely incredible. My thanks to the drug companies who make ATIVAN... a tiny little pill that will turn the biggest wimp into the bravest of them all.
Well, there you have it. That was Las Vegas Vacation Part Deux and what a vacation it was. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and didn't want to be back home, but, we have to work and make money for Trip No. 3....LOL.
We'd like to do this trip again, perhaps in the fall, and would like anyone who reads this page to think about joining us there. Start saving now, and make that trip to Las Vegas. It is such a great place for people to meet and there's so much to see and do. Meeting my on-line friends has been an experience I find difficult to put into words. To meet someone for the first time, yet feel you know them completely, to hug someone for the first time, yet feel you're hugging your bestfriend, those are things everyone should have the pleasure of enjoying at least once.
My Thank-You's
Thank you to my best girlfriend Chrissy (aka Tess), who talked me into going on the second trip like I talked her into going on the first. Thanks for your hand to squeeze when I was scared on the plane, your shoulder to lean on and cry on, your support, your kindness and most of all your friendship. Thank you to Tim (aka Vegaskindaguy) for all you did for us on both trips to Las Vegas. You are truly one of a kind and I will always cherish our close friendship. You haven't seen the last of us yet !! We'll be back....LOL. Thank you to Nick for being a terrific friend, and well, for being you. You too are one of a kind, and I will also cherish our friendship for a lifetime. To Roger..... well...... hello !! I'm so glad we finally got to be in the same time zone !! Thuurp !!
