What chu talkin' bout Willis?
By: Ken Fletcher
What did you do this weekend? exactly nothing? That's all we ever do.
We sit. We talk. We watch a movie. What's that all about anyway? It's like
you meet a girl, ask her out because you want to get to know her better,
but then you take her to a movie, where the two of you sit in silence,
concentrating on a similar subject that has nothing to do with either of
you. Even if you go to eat afterwards all you're gonna talk about was this
escape from reality you both just participated in. Typically you say, "hey
remember that part where he said 'whoa' and the other guy was like 'hey that's
my cat.'" And then you laugh at the same thing you laughed at twenty minutes
ago. Not that I have any problems with this, I mean its my life. But its
kinda queer ya know? Its like nothing ever happens and we are perfectly content
with it. This is coming from a guy whose afternoons are filled with watching
the Disney channel. But its like people always talk about doing something
different, but hey it's all still talk. I like to talk, I don't want to do
anything unless I can talk about it later, otherwise what's the point. The
only reason I go to work is so later that night I can make fun of the customers.
The only reason I go out on dates with girls is so I can talk them into having
sex with me so I can tell you guys about it. Its all a paradox ya know, like
how we all work hard in school, so we can work hard to put our kids through
school, so they can work hard. But all we ever tell them is how hard we worked.
People always talk about wanting to do something. But why? So they can talk
about it later? Why should Mike even wake up? To talk? I mean what else is
there besides talking?
you are done go back now
