Interview: Shadow
Q: Where are you from? Could you please briefly describe what your area is like?
A: Well the area im from is pretty peaceful and the people are quite friendly. I like it here because you're surrounded by trees, children
playing in the park (sometimes I find them annoying because they scream) and
there's a lot of great places to skate.
Q: What's your occupation/job?
A: At the moment, I'm made redundant XD. But I'm training as an IT consultant at the moment.
Q: What are your other interests aside from Beyblading?
A: TV, Internet, video games, skating and anything I find that
entertains me.
Q: How popular is Beyblading in your area?
A: It's pretty well known actually, there have been A LOT of Beybladers turning up at my town tournament and I estimated that there were
at least... Actually I lost count but I didn't expect so much from just a small town.
Q: How long have you been Beyblading?
A: Nearly 2 years.
Q: How did you first get into Beyblading?
A: My brother brought one from Argos and wanted to tangle my hair up when I had it long. Much to his
disappointment, I had it cut. But we started playing with the Beyblade in a saucepan and I found it
really addictive.
Q: If you've been in any Beyblade tournaments, could you please describe your tournament history, along with
any awards you've won?
A: History, well erm... They were pretty intense and a long journey. I got disqualified from last
year's tourney in Reading for using a Takara Beyblade. But other than that, I managed to win my town tournament and
I won a trophy, Draciel fortress arena, Bump King, Draciel F and an electronic Dragoon F. I felt sorry for the lad who came second but he fought very
well.
Q: How do you develop your combos/customizations-- do you experiment on your own, research Beyblade sites on the
Internet, get ideas from friends, etc?
A: Mostly internet and research. My friends don't have a ****ing clue how to customize properly. Well, all but my teammates anyway hehe. But
I never asked them.
Q: What are your favorite Beyblade parts to use for customizations, and why?
A: Mainly the attack rings because they're all very stylish and fun to research on. I like their looks, how they feel and how they operate in
combat.
Q: What's your favorite customization? What are its features? Where did you get the idea for
it? (If you have more than one favorite customization, please feel free to talk about the others if you
want.)
A: My only favourite combo was:
AR: Dranzer S
WD: 8 heavy
SG: Dranzer S
BB: Wolborg 2
I guess I relied on too much defense than attack. I wished I came up with something better because it
wasn't really exciting having a defense Beyblade. But at least it won me the
title of the town champion.
Q: What is/are your favorite uncustomized Beyblade(s), and why?
A: Dranzer GT. It looks perfect the way it is.
Q: What launcher do you use?
A: Dual launcher and my HMS customize grip.
Q: Where do you buy your Beyblades?
A: The Intoy. I rarely buy them off Toys R'us anymore.
Q: How do you sharpen your Beyblading skills, and how often do you do it?
A: Practice makes perfect my friend. And unfortunately I do it everyday so try and keep up, hehe ;)
Q: How often do you participate in Beyblade battles?
A: I never back down from a fight. Who would?
Q: Do you have any favorite Beyblade websites? If so, what are they?
A: Off the Chain, Beyblade Spirit and
Destination
Beyblade.
Q: Lastly, do you have any advice for aspiring Beyblade champs?
A: Well before I die (which I hope not to), I want to wish every Beyblader good luck, keep on blading and someday you'll become the
king!
