Things about me


I thought I would say a few things about me and include my Resumé on my website, a great place to start marketing my skills and meet new people. I am Sheldon De Friez from Heber City, Utah. Work has now taken me to Denver,CO where I work for Denver 8 KDTV as a Television Engineer. I used to work for WB2 KWGN as a Master Control Operator, Comcast on some of many cable channels including BBC America, and the Discovery Digital Channels. (They run Animal Planet!)

I recently bought a townhouse and I am looking for a roommate (for those interested.) I have been interested in all sorts of Media so I decided to learn HTML and program this web page. I have worked in Television for several years and I have degrees in Eletrical Engineering Technology from Metro State College of Denver and Broadcast Communications from BYU. (Go Cougars!!)

I have worked at KUTV TV ch. 2 and KTVX-TV ch. 4 in Salt Lake City, Utah before coming to Denver. I have worked mainly managing various forms of television equipment and helping to maintain on air quality. I have helped in running cameras, lighting and set contruction.

Working in Television has given me a strong background in visual layouts and design so I hope it shows in my web pages. I have been doing amateur photography as well and have devoted some of my website to my photos. I like working with computers hence my webpages and graphics. I also hate suits.

I like to travel and explore and discover so a lot of my photos are of places that are new to me in Colorado. I have taken recent vacations to Oahu in Hawaii and Montreal in Canada(they speak French in Quebec). I hope to learn how to fly airplanes soon too.

  • For Aurora 8 KACT I worked as a Television Engineer. July 2005-June 2006.


  • For WB2 KWGN I worked as a weekend Master Control Operator. September 2005-June 2006.


  • For KPXC PAX-TV (Ch. 59) I worked as a weekend Master Control Operator. January 2003-September 2005.


  • For Digital Media Center (AT&T Broadband) I have worked as a Master Control Operator on various cable channels. Working with various automation, digital video servers, VTRs and switcher systems. September 1998-October 2002.


  • For KUTV 2NEWS (CBS) I have worked as a weekend Master Control Operatordoing network delay and basic Chyron as well as serving as weekday Tape Room Operator also helping in News productions as Floor Director and Robotic Cameraman. June 1997-May 1998.


  • For KTVX News 4 Utah (ABC) I served as Tape Delay Operator and News Studio Cameraman. I have also done other jobs for various Productions: Audio Technician, Floor Director and Dubner. September 1995-June 1997.


  • On The KBYU Report airing on KBYU TV CH.11 (PBS) I have performed the following duties: Edit Technician (supervised and edited stories for news and also taught editing skills on MII and Hi-8 formats), Technical Director, Audio Technician and Cameraman.January 1994-September 1995.
