Main Characters
In Heinz there are three main characters and a lot of additional characters that keep returning every once in a while. Of course we start with the three main guys: Heinz, Frits and Jodocus.

Heinz of course is THE main character. He is a bit grumpy most of the time and cynical too. He likes playing jokes on people, but can't stand it when people do the same to him. Of course he likes a beer, being a real Dutch cat, which means you can find him in a cafe quite often.
This is Jodocus!
He is, as you can see, a tortoise. He's slow, a bit stupid, but always a gentleman. He first appears in part 3, Beau Heinz, where he hands Heinz a new years card that is 'only' two years late.

And there's Frits Heinz's best friend. Frits saves Heinz from a suicide attempt in the beginning of part 1, Heinz. Frits is the brain of the  three, always trying to keep everything in the right perspective, getting Heinz out of depressions more than once.

Additional Characters

Bonga Tjebbe Kees and Heinz
Barkeeper
Captain
Bonga
is a gentle hearted, ill mannered caveman, first seen in part 7.
Tjebbe
is a gnome, as you can see. He worked in Heinz his garden in part 13.
Kees
always has something to complain about. If it's not the weather it's football. He is first met by Frits in part 9.
The barkeeper
The guy who taps the beers for Heinz and Frits. Always positive and friendly.
Captain
is a cynical man on whose ship Heinz ends up more than once.

The Crew
This is The Crew of the ship that gets Heinz of most desert islands. Always hard working and never ever depressed or angry. Except for the French chef. He hates Heinz and Ed because they're so hairy and he's afraid their hairs might end up in his soup...
Dolly Ed Emmer
Ed Emmer is Heinz's best companion aboard the ship. His greatest hobby is making sand castles.
Heinz and Aap Not to forget of course, there's Dolly, Heinz's girlfriend. Named after Dolly Parton and equally elegant and beautiful. Always patient with Heinz's bad temper. Strangely enough she hardly appears anymore... 4 Puppies
Aap is a genius inventor, who has solved many problems for Heinz with his inventions, but also invented some very annoying things like "the Aap-mobile" He can't speak, but instead uses sign language to express himself. 7 In my opinion the funniest characters are The Puppies. They are the Children of Seneca, a dog Frits used to have in part 11. The puppies play a uniquely genius act for about seven weeks, and now they're back in part 21! Reason to celebrate!! 10!
