| Lyman entered the Garfield comic strip as Jon Arbuckle's roommate and Odie's owner. Lyman's primary function was to give Jon someone to talk to, a role that was gradually assumed by Garfield. Though he reappeared briefly for Garfield's tenth anniversary comic strip (6-19-88), Lyman's last regular appearance was in 1983. | |
