Moon Phases for Ritual and Magickal Uses

Keep in mind that new projects should be started when the moon is waxing (from dark to full).

When the moon is waning (from full to dark) it is time for banishing and rejecting things we no longer wish to carry around with us.

The three days before the new moon is known as the dark of the moon, this is a time to rest and recoup energy, or spin the dark arts.

The Harvest Moon is the Full Moon that falls nearest the Fall Equinox (Mabon). This gave farmers extra moonlight hours to bring in the crops.

A Blue Moon occurs when the moon with its 28 day cycle appears twice in the same month due to that months 31 day duration.
