One of the videos created by Kurt and Jackson was nominated in a nation-wide video contest.  It was among 6 finalists in the "special effects" category; one of 5 categories in ZDTV's Cam Film Festival contest.  Be sure to vote for the video on Monday, July 19 at www.zdtv.com/camfest.  The title of the video will be listed as "Stand Taller."  This video is not listed as an official archive, but this will give all of you a chance to see what else we do.  The polls for the special effects category are only open for that day only!  So you must vote on Monday.
Also, for all of you who get ZDTV, there will be a special awards show on the following Monday (July 26).  Check listings.  The video will be shown on national TV on that day.  Be sure to watch!

You may have noticed that the front page of the Amazing Archive Webpage has gotten a facelift.  It was, of course, long overdue.  Please take note of the sony miniDV cam that has emerged alongside along the old "iron horse" Magnavox VHS model.
Also, many of you have heard rumors that the Amazing Archive Webpage was going to be moving to another address.  I just want to make it clear that there are no plans of moving this web site off of Fortune City at this time.

After a long drought, there is finally an update for the Amazing Archive Webpage.  And what an update it is!  The highly anticipated Unforgettable Mio web site is finally up an running.  Check it out by going to the links sectioin!

I know we have been slacking lately in getting out archives done, but hopefully, now that finals are done, we can get back to the more important things.

Phase one is complete!!  That's right, the Sony DCR-TRV9 was received today.  It's pretty neat.  In other news, if you haven't noticed, I think FortuneCity is beginning to get a little bit carried away with their advertising banners.

Yesterday marked a milestone date in the history of the archives.  Many times we have used the word "milestone" to describe something we have done, but what happened yesterday truely was a milestone.  Yes, that's right, I, Kurt Schuette, purchased a brand new, state of the art, Sony Digital Camcorder for the archives and for KSJP Productions.  This will open up a whole new world of opportunities.  The exact model that was purchased was the Sony DCR-TRV9.  I know that this is a different model than I said that we were looking at before, but after careful consideration, we decided that this model had the best array of features for the price.  The big thing that impressed me was the fact that it was capable of inputting our old analog videos.  This means that when the digital video editing computer is purchased (the next phase), we can store all the archives digitally on CD's.  You can check out the specifics of this model by clicking here.  You can also click here and find out all you ever wanted to know about the Digital Video format.
I would also like to thank Camera World of Oregon, which was the company that I purchased the camcorder from.  I was able to save $297.51 over the price that Best Buy charged (part of the savings was due to the fact that I didn't have to pay sales tax on my out of state order).  I had experience checking 16 other mail order companies, and Camera World of Oregon provided the best service by far.

The Companion Video page is now up!  I know many people have been requesting more pictures.  Well, this page should almost double the number of pictures on the archive webpage.  Go to the links page and check it out!  In other news, Soda Run is coming along, but because of some scheduling problems, it obviously won't be finished today, which was the tentative release date.

November 12, 1998
Just wanted to say that James Bone went over very well at its premiere, and we are all very satisfied with it.  It can be viewed by anyone who is willing and able to see it.  Now we can put all our efforts towards Soda Run.

November 8, 1998
Did some updating to all the archive pages that are currently up.  They now all have a "Credits" section.  I also added a new section called "Fun Facts" to each of them.  This section includes some interesting tidbits of information and little known facts about the archives.
If you haven't already heard, the release date for James Bone has been pushed back to Tuesday, November 10, 1998.  This was not done because we couldn't get it done on time.  It was done because Jackson had a prior commitment on November 6, that he forgot about.
Right now, all the post production is done except for the credits music, which will be added as soon as I can get the music from Jackson.

October 27, 1998
Exciting news today!  Today, Jackson and Kurt spent the entire day working on archives, and alot of progress has been made.  As of today, all filming and computer effects for James Bone has been finished.  Now, during the next week, the post production will be finished off.  The release date for James Bone has been set for Friday, November 6.
Soda Run is also well under way.  Today, some of the "on location" shots were done, as well as the computer effects (which are totally finished now).  We would tell you where some of the places are that Soda Run was filmed, but we don't want to give away anything to anybody who doesn't want to know yet.  The tentative release date for Soda Run has been set for Friday, November 27.
Wait, there's more! The Parking Lot Archive was also filmed today.  Some time during the next few weeks, the final audio editing will be added to that.
Now for some "equipment" news.  It looks like there is a pretty good chance that the archives will be going digital within the next year or so.  For those of you who are into this kind of thing, you can follow these links to check out the camera models that we are currently considering (Canon ZRJVC GR-DVM5U)(By the way, don't go by the prices of the cameras.  I know where to get them alot cheaper).  If you have any suggestions, fell free to e-mail them this way.
Another era in our archives has come to a close.  The two archive tapes known as "For Recording Archives" and "Pedestrian Polo" have been filled to capacity.  These videos are a testament to over two and a half years of archive making.  That is 4 hours of archives!  Looking back, the "Pedestrian Polo" video was the first tape devoted solely to archives.  It began in 1996, with Jackson Price's unforgettable remake of 1994's Pedestrian Polo.  Almost a year later on February 21, 1997, we saw Joey Foehrkolb in the basement of Kurt's house, which became the first images of "For Recording Archives." These two films will now be retired, and placed among the great archives of the past for viewing.

James Bone was filmed on September 26, 1998, and is currently in post-production.  A mid to late October release is currently pending.  Find out more about James Bone at the new "James Bone" site which was just put up today!

The Amazing Archive Webpage has received 100 hits!  The 100th hit was made by Jackson Price.  For this amazing feat, Jackson receives an "Amazing Archive" mug, an "Amazing Archive" cap, and a $5 gift certificate to Starbuck's!

Many of you have asked me if the post production for Star Trek V has been finished.  In fact, it has been finished for about a week.  I'm sorry that I didn't get this bit of news posted sooner.  But, yes, Star Trek V is totally finished now and available for viewing

We're proud to announce that the 25th full length feature archive has been filmed.  In the early morning hours of August 1, 1998, the long awaited Star Trek V was finally captured on film.  Be sure to check it out in the "Archive Links" section.  Also check out the wave files I have on that page, and please tell me whether you like the lower quality small files or the higher quality larger files.

The end of an era has truly come, Jon Davidenas and his family left their house for Hawaii just before 9 am on August 3, 1998.  It is not every day that someone that has made such a big influence on our archives is lost.

July 26, 1998
This news is a little late, but the web page just started up.  Oh well.  Our latest video presentation was a success!  After two months of production and post production, Jon's Going Away Video was finally presented on July 14, 1998 at Jon's going away party.  It was viewed by a crowd of at least 28 people.  Here are some reviews done by a few historical figures:
"Jon's Tribute Video will live in infamy!"  -Franklin Roosevelt
"Kurt and Jackson socked it to 'em again!"  -Richard Nixon
"--.   .-.   .   .-   -"  -Samuel Morse
"The video was very enlightening"  -Thomas Edison
"It was relatively good"  -Albert Einstein
"This video is one giant leap for the archives!"  -Neil Armstrong
"Amazing - This video has soared to new heights"  -The Write Brothers
"Awesome!"  -Vladimer Lenin
"I thought all of the archives were created equal until I saw this one.  Great work!"  -Thomas Jefferson
I would like to thank everyone, once again, who contributed their time and efforts to make this video possible.  Jon leaves for Hawaii on Monday, August 3rd.
