Gameplay techniques
Arena
One of the high points to DBTS arena function is the ability to choose an enemy or multiple opponents to play as or against. This is where all the action happens single player is often without small places to have a duel or a brawl. If you are new to the game I don't suggest this right away, as it would probably best to spend time on the tutorial (at the attack dummies). For people that are ready to begin, here is a good setup: turn off the survivor tab and change it to unlimited, keep your character on Enric (warrior), leave the Orc as the opposing player and fight in the lavapit arena.
When you start, take note of your enemy's position e.g.; over lava, on higher ground etc. and move yourself in to a less vulnerable position (where you can attack them better).
If you're on the Lavapit arena, go to the bridge.
If you're in the pit of Ennvi, stand in the middle.
If you're in the Moshpit arena go to the edge of a rise (of the Middle Square).
If you're in the pit of love, go to the highest floor and stand in the middle.
All these positions offer the greatest options to attack (and pull dirty tricks)!
LavaPit- Stand in the middle of the bridge. When your foe runs up on it jump forwards (forward twice) and swing wide. If you successfully nail him when he's running, he'll fall down in to the lava and take a while to get out. A bit of a low blow but who cares! All's fair in Love and DBTS!
Pit of Ennvi- Go to the very top and watch which side your enemy comes up. It doesn't really matter, but just make sure you know their position. When they attempt to move on the platform, hit them back down or just keep slashing them when they are about halfway up the access ramp (use low attacks but don't duck). Either way they will fall off ;). If they manage to get up on the platform, just jump down the bottom, and when the enemy follows you, run back to the top.
Pit of Love- The easiest level for cheap kills! This is the level where leg hackers will triumph, because if one is chopped off it usually sends the victim to their doom (at the bottom). Knocking the enemy to the ground usually sends them over, and sometimes the computer will just jump backwards over the edge! This is the funniest arena to fight in as well because it takes considerable skill (which I happen to possess :0P ) to stay alive.
Mosh Pit- Interesting to say the least! The spinning blades are easy to avoid, but unfortunately easier for the computer as well. If you manage to knock them over in the path of one of the blades, then the headache they receive will no doubt take off about half their life, and some times eject their head from their neck.
Rememever to be creative! Try to torture your opponent...
Tournament
The tournament option is something in DBTS that many people overlook and forget about. There isn't that much to be said about it really- it's just a lot Arena matches with different characters that go from easy up to hard. I haven't finished it yet, but I got pretty far and it was quite hard where I was. 3 on 1 is pretty easy anyway
Tutorial
A must for beginners. This is important for mastering the skills necessary to move and kill efficiently. Without this I would be a useless player and would never had gained the skill level I have today (yes, I am up myself!). Quest Quite a fun and entertaining thing to do! I have completed it once on Squire, twice on champion and a few times on Lord (maybe two, maybe three). I'm not going to write a play guide for it though, that takes too long! Newbies should start on squire or knight difficulty.
