Notes

Ok, here are a few notes before we start: Download the move tutorial! It will help you a lot if you want to a high level of skill. The AI in Die by the Sword (after here known as DBTS) is very well planned, as it is just a large set of, "custom moves" targeted to a specific part of your character. You can see this in action by running around your opponent in a semi-wide circle, as it will remain still (only rotating on it's feet) trying to line up itself up with its target. This is easily exploited, because if you tighten your running circle then you can do a little targeting of your own and take their head off their shoulders {:0). There is also a cheat that shows the part the computer is targeting, but that is pathetic and cheaters suck bad. ALWAYS hold down the extend arm button (except when you are performing an advanced attack, explained later in this document) as this will deliver a more powerful attack. Without this key the, "arm up" and "arm down" keys are useless. The way you move greatly affects the way your weapon swings; moving the same direction of it will at least double the strength of the attack. Try to move or rotate your body the same way your weapon is swinging, and it will pay off enough to stop you from dying. I have often heard people complain that the computers defense mechanism is unfair, as they can move both their arms. It is true that they can move both arms, but many people don't stand still and just watch what their own character does when attacked. If an enemies weapon even comes close to there own, then it is immediately stopped by their weapon and cannot move to its destination. With Enric, the shield works in the same way; as long as it is facing the enemy, the area around it will not be hit. This applies for all characters (except for those that have the feature to attack with both arms built in). BTW, set your climb and action functions to the same key, as this helps tremendously. That's about it! On with the show…
