Pure Paradise

As the song ended, someone tapped Serena on the shoulder. She turned, and there was Reeni. Reeni was holding her Luna Ball, and she whispered in Serena's ear.

" Luna Ball has a message for you, Serena." Serena nodded, and walked outside with Reeni. Molly and Melvin were out on the front porch making out, and Amy was reading a book on anatomy. Serena and Reeni walked out to the gate to the street and talked in a hush.

" So, what's the message?" Serena asked the face on Luna Ball's right screen. A face, slightly distorted, appeared.

" Sailor Moon, we have an emergency," the voice began.

" Oh wonderful," Serena sighed.

" The Negaforce has cut through the fabric of time and they are taking over before you are even born."

" Could you explain that in plain English, please?" Serena asked.

" The Negaforce has gone back in time to take over!"

" What? How? I thought we destroyed the Negaforce!" Serena exclaimed.

" Well, someone revived them. You'll need to go back and destroy them if your future is to remain the same. Otherwise, this time will never exist." The voice said.

" But we can't go back in time, can we? I didn't know we had that capability."

" The Moon Sword has the power to cut through the fabric of time at the vortex opening. Meet at the Gates of Crystal Tokyo at eight p.m. tomorrow night. My signal is growing weak, so Luna must explain the rest of your assignment. Good Luck, Sailor Moon. Your future depends on the past." The distorted face disappeared.

After kicking out the party guests, Serena, Lita, Amy, Mina, Raye, and Darien held a meeting in Serena's bedroom.

" Okay, so we have to go back in time to stop the Negaforce?" Raye asked.

" That's what Reeni's Luna Ball said." Serena confirmed.

" And Luna is supposed to explain the whole plan?" Mina questioned.

" Yeah, if she ever shows up." Serena answered.

" I'm right here," Luna announced as she hopped through the window from outside. " I got the message from Setsuna. Looks like we're in for quite a challenge."

" Who's Setsuna?" Lita inquired.

" She is the master of time in the future." Luna told her. "Reeni, where are the Gates of Crystal Tokyo?"

" Do you have a map?" Reeni asked.

" I have a virtual map on my computer," Amy said and pulled the tiny palm-top out of her pocket. She selected the map from a list of items on a scroll. Reeni pointed to the box on one side of town.

" This is the front gate of the Cherry Hill Temple." Amy noted.

" Well, now we know where to go. Do you all remember how to transform into that special armor?"

The girls nodded, as did Darien.

" Good. Here's the plan. Get to the Temple at seven-thirty. I won't be there until at least seven-fifty. Bring as much currency as you can get your hands on, without being dishonest. Don't bother bringing clothes, since they won't fit in with the time period. The time vortex should set you on a grassy plain two miles outside of Dublin."

" Dublin? We're going to Ireland?" Mina asked.

" Yes. For some reason, that's where the Negaforce decided to go. As soon as you get to the past, find a merchant and buy sturdy peasants' clothes. You must look as normal as humanly possible. Go to nearest village and become acquainted with the villagers. Don't hesitate to make yourselves part of different families. Forget about the present, and tell the peasants that the six of you don't remember your place of origin. While you establish lives in the past, you will take care of the Negaforce disturbance. You may come to know the peasants as part of your family. Forget about your present family while you're there. It will be of no use to you to feel homesick."

" Stop Luna! What are you saying?" Raye interrupted.

" It might be a while before Setsuna can align the fabric of time and bring you back." Luna told her.

" You make this trip sound so fun, Luna. Do we have any choice in going?" Darien queried.

" There is always a choice, Darien. If any of you choose not to go, you must know the consequences. If this trip is not fulfilled, then the future will suffer. If the Negaforce succeeds, you will never exist. The Sailor Scouts will never be born, and Crystal Tokyo will be nothing but a dream. The Fabric of Time will forever be changed. If some of you go, but not all of you, the results may be just as drastic. The ones who go may be killed or destroyed, and they will not exist in the present, while the others will go on living until the altered reality catches up with them, and they will be forced to save the future on their own. So you see, there is always a choice. The question is, do you want to take it?"

" All right scouts, are you in?" Darien asked, putting his hand forward into the circle of girls.

" I am," Serena said, laying her hand on Darien's. " In the name of the Moon, I won't let us perish."

" Neither will I," Amy added her hand to the pile. " In the name of Mercury."

" In the name of Venus, I'm in too." Mina laid her hand on Amy's.

" Here goes, in the name of Jupiter." Lita put her hand over Mina's.

" All right, all right, you talked me into it. In the name of Mars!" Raye added.

" Here we go Sailor Scouts, Tuxedo Mask, back to the past!" Luna put her paw on Raye's hand.

Darien and Serena walked up to the Cherry Hill temple gate. Mina and Lita were already there, talking to Raye in front of the gate. Serena had spent the whole day with her parents. They'd gone miniature golfing, eaten a hearty dinner, and played three games of Twister ™. Darien had hung out with Andrew for the day. Amy had spent the previous night working on something for the communicator, and then she'd spent all that day with her mother and her boyfriend, Greg. Lita and Raye, Chad, and Grandpa had gone to an ice skating rink, and then bought ice cream. Mina had spent the whole day with Artemis. Serena imagined that her parents had thought she was totally losing it for wanting to spend the day with them, but already she missed them.

Amy's mother dropped her and Greg off at the temple. Amy was carrying a black box with her. She and Greg walked up to the others.

" Greg, I'm going to miss you so much. Don't forget to call me on Luna's communicator." Greg was the only normal Earth person who knew about the identities of the Scouts and Darien. Greg had been a crystal bearer and the crystal had given him psychic abilities. He'd always known about the Scouts identities, and about the Negaforce. Unfortunately, he didn't know the outcome of this time travel thing. That worried him.

" I won't forget. Don't you forget me on this expedition of yours. I don't know what I'm going to do without you." They kissed and hugged. Then Luna and Artemis walked up.

" What's Greg doing here, Amy?" Artemis asked.

" He already knows about us, Artemis. He's psychic."

" Oh," Artemis blushed.

" Amy, do you have the communicator devices?" Luna asked.

" Yes, I have them in this box."

" Hand your communicators to Amy, everyone." Amy attached small electronic devices to the six communicators.

" I also have one for your headset, Luna," Amy attached the metal device to the headset on Luna's head.

" Okay, people, let's transform." Artemis instructed.

" Crescent Moon Power!" Serena cried, putting the first two fingers of her right hand to her forehead.

" Mars Fire Power!" Raye called, copying Serena's movements.

" Mercury Ice Power!" shouted Amy, doing the same.

" Jupiter Thunder Power!" added Lita.

" Venus Heart Power!" exclaimed Mina.

" Golden Kingdom Power!" finished Darien.

When the transformation was over, the girls looked like medieval warriors, and Darien looked no different from his Prince Darien form. Serena wore a breastplate of titanium with a gold tint. The straps of the armor were links of gold crescent moons. Between her breasts, a dagger rested. On her left upper arm was a gold bracelet. At the bottom of the breastplate was a white belt with a gold moon emblem. She wore a gauntlet on each forearm, but the left one contained a ruby gem with a crescent emblem embedded in it. Also, on her left hand, she wore a golden ring on her index finger and thumb. Her skirt was blue, just like on her normal outfit, but the shape was different. This skirt hung down like a piece of toga cloth. In her warrior outfit, her boots were the same, but she wore no tiara. On her left side, she also had a red and black leather sheath for the moon sword.

Raye wore a black metal top with slits over both breasts. The top had thick straps, but no sleeves. Her midriff was bare, and her skirt was in the same fashion as Serena's, except red. She also wore a belt with an amber clasp. On her right arm, she wore a red leather bracelet with her Mars emblem on it. Her gauntlets, one on each arm, were silver and ended at a point unlike Serena's (which went from wrist to mid-forearm). On her right gauntlet was an amber jewel with her emblem carved into it. She also wore lace-up boots. On her back was a red leather quiver filled with phoenix-feathered arrows. In her right hand, she carried a bow.

Amy wore a breastplate similar to Serena's. The straps were circular links, which attached to shoulder covers similar to Darien's. Under her breastplate, she wore a tube top-like shirt with strings that tied around her neck. On her left arm, she wore a silver bracelet. Her gauntlets were shaped like Raye's and she had a sapphire jewel on the left one with her Mercury emblem carved into it. On her left finger, she wore a Celtic water ring. Her skirt was dark blue, and shaped like that of the others. Her boots were knee high like Serena's, and each bore the Mercury emblem at its tip. On her back was a sheath, which carried a sword.

Lita wore a breastplate like Amy and Serena. The straps were brass circular links. Under her armor, she wore a halter-top, which tied around her neck. On her right arm was a brass bracelet. Her gauntlets were like Serena's, except that they went up to her elbows. On her right gauntlet, she wore an emerald jewel with Jupiter's marking. Her skirt was a light, spring green and shaped like the others. She wore ankle boots and carried a maple wood spear with a granite blade. Also, Lita's hair hung around her shoulders, instead of being up.

Last but not least, Mina wore an armored aluminum top with a brass tint. Links of brass attached to the top of the plate and circled around her neck. On her left arm, she wore a garnet and brass bracelet. Her gauntlets started at the wrist, but were cut at points at the end. They pointed into the gauntlet. On the left gauntlet was her amber jewel with her Venus emblem carved into it. She wore an orange belt with a garnet clasp, vaguely resembling a heart. Her skirt was orange and shaped like that of the others. On her feet were lace-up boots that stopped at the mid-calf. In her left hand, she held a cherry wood staff.

"Serena, draw your sword." Luna ordered. Serena drew the moon sword from its sheath.

" When I tell you, you will slice your sword through the gate of the temple and you will all step through."

" Luna, where is my mace?" Mercury asked.

" You now have a sword, Mercury. It should be easier to use and easier to handle." Luna answered. Artemis and Luna's ears perked up as the clock in the middle of town sounded.

" Alright Serena, do it now." Serena pushed her sword through the gate of the temple, and was surprised to find that there was something to cut through. She sliced down as Amy kissed Greg goodbye.

" Goodbye, Luna, Artemis." Serena said, and stepped through the hole in the fabric of time.

" Goodbye you two. We'll be in touch." Raye said, and stepped through the hole.

" What about the money, Artemis?" Mina asked.

" It will change to the Irish currency when you arrive. Don't let anyone swindle you."

" Goodbye Artemis," Mina hugged her cat.

" Goodbye," Amy waved as she stepped through the vortex.

" Bye," Lita hopped through behind Amy, and then Mina went through.

" Goodbye." Darien said as he stepped through, and then they were gone. The vortex closed and sealed. Luna dialed up Serena.

" Serena, you there?" Luna asked.

" Serena here. Hi Luna. Where do we get off?"

Serena and the others were floating in some kind of celestial cloud cover with the color of the Orion nebula.

" Anywhere you want. Setsuna has made it so that wherever you slice into time, that vortex will take you right to where you want to be."

" Cool." Serena drew her sword and sliced into the atmosphere. She beckoned to the others.

" It worked, Luna. I'll contact you in a bit. Stand by." Serena stepped through the hole and fell to the ground. She dialed in Darien's number.

" Darien here," he said.

" Watch your step, Darien. Tell the others." Serena said.

" Gotcha. Out." Darien ended the transmission.

" Serena says watch your step." He told the other scouts. Then Darien stepped out of the hole with the others on his tail. Serena looked around.

Granite jutted out of the ground and lush green grass covered the ground. The sky was slightly gray with fog. Just standing there, she felt the mist of the fog on her bare arms. Darien stood beside her.

" It's paradise, Darien. This place is pure paradise." Below the rolling hills, on which they stood, was a deep cavernous valley.

" Okay, Amy, where's he nearest merchant?" Raye asked. Amy activated her VR visor and did a scan.

" Two miles down this road." Amy pointed to the dusty dirt road in front of them.

" Let's go." Lita stepped forward and started walking down the road. Serena and Darien grasped hands and walked behind Lita. Using her staff as a walking stick, Mina followed and Raye and Amy followed in back.

Serena stood in front of the merchant's cart and picked through the pre-made dresses in front of her. Finally, she picked a pale blue, full-length dress and a pair of lace-up, leather boots. Serena paid for the items and carried them in the cradle of her arm.

" Are you ladies warriors?" asked the young merchant. He couldn't have been any older than Darien.

" You could say that," Raye answered him, handing over a few bits for her skirt and laced bodice.

" Thank you so much," Amy said, handing over money for her dark blue top with three-quarter sleeves, red and blue belt scrap cloth belt, and brown wool skirt, as well as lace up boots.

" Here you go, sir," Mina handed the merchant four coins for her rust colored top with blue lining and its matching skirt.

" How much did you say this dress was?" Lita asked the merchant, holding a green cloth dress to her. It was full length as well, and the neck was a gathered hem, like Serena's. Yet Lita's dress was different from that of the others. The short sleeves of the dress were gathered and tied with a drawstring. They added just the right touch to the frock, and Lita had fallen in love with it at first sight.

" Four bits, miss." Replied the merchant, who was dazzled by Lita's beauty. She looked so innocent in his eyes. Lita paid for the dress, and Darien paid for his shirt and leather pants, and boots. Then the group left the travelling merchant behind and continued on their way.

At a fork in the road, Raye came across a cave.

" We can change in there," she pointed out. The scouts entered the cave and Raye lit a small fire. Darien stayed at the front of the cave with his back turned. After transforming back to his twentieth century self, he changed out of his usual garb and into the sheepskin crossover shirt, which was dyed blue, the pair of leather pants, and the lace up boots made of rawhide.

Serena touched his shoulder. Darien turned intensely, and then smiled at Serena.

" Hi there. Come out into the sun and let me look at you, Serena." Darien said, and pulled her out into the pale sunlight.

" Don't you look cute in your age old get up. How do I look?" Darien asked.

" Weird." Serena commented.

" Hey!" Darien put up a defense.

" You don't need to be defensive, Darien. I feel weird in this wool dress, it's itchy."

" I suppose this is something we'll have to get used to."

" Personally, I like it," Lita said, coming out of the cave.

" Wow Lita, you look great." Serena complimented.

" Thanks, I bet I could have made it during this time, had Queen Serenity chosen to stick us here."

" I think I could have too," Raye said, coming into the light. " What do you guys think?"

" Very nice Raye, very nice." Darien nodded in approval. Serena shot him a disapproving look. Amy and Mina came out together. Amy looked disappointed, and Mina looked happy.

" What's wrong, Amy?" Lita asked.

" She's upset because we have to burn our twentieth century clothes." Mina told Lita.

" Well, Amy. We have to get rid of any evidence of our time travel." Darien said.

" I'll never get used to this way of doing things, guys. I feel so weird without all our technology." Amy sighed.

" This is paradise, Amy. This is pure paradise. And you'll have to get used to it. But before you put away your technology for the day, scan for the Negaforce and a town within its vicinity. Amy pulled her mini computer from her patchwork pocket and scanned the area.

" One mile down the left fork is a farming village and my computer reads a bit of Negaforce activity in that region."

" Then let's go," Raye said, heading down the left fork.

The village, known as Arcania, was full of bustling citizens and sheep. Lita noticed right away that there were by far more sheep than people. A young lamb rubbed up against Amy's leg. The houses in the village were small with thatched roofs and open windows. Serena put on her best smile and walked up to an old man with a scraggly beard.

" Hello sir," she said to him. The old man smiled at her.

" Hello lass, you look as beautiful as Aphrodite herself. What brings you to Arcania?"

" My friends and I are unsure of our whereabouts. We have no place to go and no place to stay. We have traveled great distances, after being captured amidst a battle in Gaul. Please, sir, are you one of the elders?"

" Yes, lass, I am. It sounds to me like you have great troubles. I may offer shelter and food for you, if you will accept."

" Thank you very much sir."

" What is your name, child?" the elder asked.

" Serena," Serena replied.

" Welcome, Serena, to Arcania."

That night, the council of elders held a meeting to discuss the newcomers. The old man that Serena had spoken with was only one of five ranking elders in the village. Darien, Raye, Lita, Mina, Amy, and Serena were also at the meeting, along with the men of each family in the village.

" I think it is a wonderful idea to have newcomers to Arcania." Said a man towards the back of the meeting hall.

" Who speaks?" asked one of the elders.

" Thomas Woxley, and I would be glad to have another maiden in my household. She can help my wife with chores while she is carrying our child."

" And after?" asked another elder.

" She can help with the child sir." Thomas finished.

" But Woxley, we have five maidens here, and a man as well." Stated still another elder.

" I'll take on a couple of girls for the mill," said a man.

" Who is that back there?"

" Marcus Small, sir." The elders whispered between themselves as the miller spoke.

" We have decided to let the travelers stay in Arcania. If you would like to adopt any of them, or employ them, you may do so at your leisure." Then the meeting adjourned.

By nightfall, each scout, as well as Darien, had a place to stay. Amy and Raye were hired by the miller to do chores. Darien and Serena were hired by a farmer to tend flocks of sheep. Thomas Woxley hired Lita to help around his own house. And Mina was adopted into a childless family to tend housework and add cheer. The others were also adopted into families. Serena, though employed at times by the farmer, stayed with a happily married couple and their son and daughter. Darien stayed with one of the elders, who enjoyed his company. Amy also stayed with an elder, who enjoyed her companionship, and Raye stayed with the miller and his wife and son.

Mina walked down to the lake behind the village with a wooden bucket. The bucket had a small hole in the bottom, she had discovered, but the leak wasn't too bad. It had been three and a half months since the time travel, and Mina, having no real family other than Artemis, had almost completely forgotten about the time she'd come from. At least she had until she picked up vibes of negative energy. Mina sighed and wandered back to the village. She'd hoped that the past might be a new life for her, but maybe she was wrong.

Back in Arcania, Serena and Darien spent more time together than they would have in the future. Being employed together, Serena and Darien would share wages and combine flocks. Luckily, the farmer didn't seem to mind much. Everyone in the village seemed to notice the romance blooming before their eyes. Raye had also gotten her act together and fallen for Serena's new older brother, Connor. Connor was seventeen, with curly blond hair and whimsical green eyes. Connor held a great affection for his new sister, as well as his blood sister, Nora. Raye spent a lot of time with him, since she spent many hours with Serena and the others.

Mostly, the girls would get together to talk about their old lives, or to talk to Luna, Artemis, and Reeni. Sometimes, Luna would allow Greg to call Amy or Molly to call Serena, but it was an unusual occurrence. Often times though, the girls would simply hang out. Like Mina, Lita and Darien had nearly forgotten about the future since they have lived virtually alone, and what family they'd had was still with them. On the other hand, Serena, Raye, and Amy missed their families a lot and at times would get very depressed.

Mina walked into Serena and Nora's bedroom. Luckily, Serena was alone.

" Houston, we have a problem," Mina said as she sat down.

" Huh?" Serena asked, looking up. She had something in her hand.

" What cha got there?" Mina asked. Serena showed her the picture of her family.

" I talked to Luna today. She said that even if we'd accomplished our mission, she couldn't bring us back. Luna also said that a new Sailor Scout has moved in to Tokyo."

" Oh yeah, who?"

" Setsuna. You remember? The one from Reeni's time. She's known as Sailor Pluto and she protects time." Serena took the family portrait out of its frame. She folded the picture in half and tucked it under her pillow. Then she put the frame under the bed.

" I have some news about the mission, Serena. I felt them. They’re close to the lake. I felt them when I was getting water."

" Uh-oh. Or maybe I should say finally."

" Personally, I wish they'd never borne their ugly heads. I love it here."

" You would. You don't have a family worrying about you at home. My parents probably think I'm dead. I wish I could talk to them, just once. That's all I need."

" That's what you say, but you know you're denying yourself."

" I guess. Yet, there are advantages to this place and time. It's simple, and calm here. Darien and I, well, we're allowed to be together. We could tie the knot right now, if we really wanted to. Besides, I love my family. My job is cool, and I have all of you. It's just that, it's so different from what we're used to."

" Yeah. So, you wanna grab the others and check out the disturbance."

" Not the others, just us and Darien. I say we try not to bother the others if we don't need them."

" Gotcha. Let's go." Mina left and Serena dialed up Darien.

" Darien here," he answered to the call.

" It's just me. Mina got some vibes. Want to come and check it out with us?"

" Sure thing. Where should I meet you?"

" At the lake."

" I'll see you there."

Serena stepped out of the bedroom and ran right into Connor.

" Hi," she said to him.

" Hi Serena. How's Darien?"

" Fine. I'm going to meet him at the lake. Don't tell the others."

" You got it. I have to admit, you're a more exciting sister than Nora ever was, or is."

" Is that a compliment?"

" Sure it is. Serena, if you ever remember any of your past, be sure to tell me. I won't tell anyone."

" Someday Connor. When I remember, you'll be the first to know. I promise."

" Have fun Serena,"

" I'll be sure to." Serena stepped out the door and walked down to the lake. She could feel the negative energy rot her skin as she walked up to Mina and Darien.

" You can feel it; the energy is so strong." Serena said as she walked up.

" Yeah, right through the skin. It wasn't this strong before. We better transform." Mina instructed Serena and Darien.

" Crescent Moon Power!"

" Golden Kingdom Power!"

" Venus Love Power!"

The three warriors, now in their tenth century armor, walked around the lake. The negative energy made Serena want to gag. As they crossed the lake, a familiar voice erupted behind them and a wave of nausea overcame Serena.

" Welcome Sailor Moon, Sailor Venus, Prince Darien. Lovely armor. Is this the new look of the Sailor Scouts? Where are all your Sailor pals?"

" They slept in, Malachite." Sailor Moon responded with a sneer.

" Ooh, you got me where it hurts, Sailor Moon. Queen Beryl sent me to greet you, but I can't stay long, though Zeus knows I'd love to hear the tale of your arrival. Maybe you can tell it to my friends-the dark moon warriors."

Three ominous Amazon women with strong negative stench appeared from the darkness that surrounded them. Then Malachite was gone, and Sailor Moon, Sailor Venus, and Prince Darien were left alone with the Amazons.

Darien stabbed the first Amazon warrior straight off, instead of giving Sailor Moon the chance to heal her. The amazon warrior dropped to the ground, holding her stab wound. Serena's opponent was a little harder to get rid of. Every time she sent her sword in the warrior's direction, the warrior would dodge instead of fighting back. Sailor Moon was starting to get annoyed, and Venus wasn't having the time of her life either. The Amazon warrior in her corner was an expert at the art of the wood staff, and her skill exceeded that of Venus by many lengths.

Sailor Moon started to get annoyed. She sheathed her sword and pulled out her dagger. Holding it in her hand like a dart, she threw the double-edged dagger at the warrior, then added a little touch.

" Crescent Moon activation!" she cried, and added a band of crescent moons to the dagger. Unfortunately, before the dagger pierced the Amazon, she cut Sailor Moon just above the knee. The magic dagger turned her into moon dust soon after.

" Venus crescent beam, smash!" Venus said, after muttering a few words in Gaelic. Her own opponent disintegrated.

" Great job, girls, but Serena is hurt." Prince Darien looked at the blood on Sailor Moon's leg.

" It doesn't hurt much, Prince Darien, and watch what you say around here."

" Right, right, I forgot. You know, I wanna check out Queen Beryl's camp." Prince Darien looked past the trees and into the valley below, where thirty-something campfires burned bright.

" Not tonight, Prince Darien, not tonight. First we have to master our powers, and conquer our weaknesses. I noticed that Sailor Moon and I had troubles tonight with our opponents. It'll only get worse. I say we find ourselves an army to provoke and fight against."

" Not an army, Venus. That could change the outcome of the future. We'll have to start smaller." Sailor Moon told her. Then she pulled her communicator out of her breastplate. It was beeping rambunctiously.

" Sailor Moon here," she answered.

" Sailor Moon, I am Sailor Pluto, protector of time,"

"That's right, she said things were already changing in the present." Serena relayed back to her friends. They were sitting at one of the elder's council tables. It was late at night, and the half moon shone in through the open window.

" Like what?" Lita asked, playing with her hair.

" Reeni's gone," Serena lowered her head and grasped Darien's hand tightly.

" As if you never existed?" Mina asked.

" No, as if they never got married, as if they never had kids." Amy explained.

" What else? We still existed, right?" Raye asked.

" She said our families still remembered us, but that our futures weren't coming true. Luna was there too. She said my family…she said they were starting to give up on me," Serena choked on the words.

" It's all right, Serena. Everything will be all right." Darien comforted her.

" And Grandpa?" Raye cornered Serena.

" He hasn't given up yet, neither has Amy's mom." Serena wiped a few tears from her eyes.

" And what did Pluto say about us coming back?" Amy queried.

" She said she didn't know about that. She didn't know if we could get back."

" Basically, we've given our lives to fight the Negaverse." Lita commented.

" That's our job," Darien told them. " That's always been our job. It's what we do. We all know that's why we're here. Queen Serenity wouldn't have sent us to Earth for no reason."

" She sent us for peace. She sent us so that we could have a life of peace." Mina stood.

" Maybe that wasn't her first intention. Maybe she already knew that Beryl would break out and invade Earth. She knew Earth was the only one with a living civilization. Queen Serenity wasn't stupid." Darien contradicted her.

" Stop! Both of you! Leave it be. There's nothing we can do about Queen Serenity's decision. I say, we find out what Beryl wants and stop her. Then we find a way out of here." Serena exclaimed. Then she walked out of the room and across the village. Darien went after her.

"Serena, are you serious? You want to walk straight up to her and ask her how she plans on taking over the world?"

" No, I want to do it the old fashioned way. I'll declare war if I have to, Darien. I'll beat down every Negaverse monster in the camp. I want to know what she plans to do."

" You're not going without me." Darien cut in front of her path.

" Fine, but I'm going now." Serena ran down the path that led to the lake. Darien ran after her, deciding not to argue any longer. Serena stopped at the lake and splashed some ice cold water on her face. Then she transformed; he followed her example. Sailor Moon drew her sword and continued down the path and into the bushes above Beryl's camp. Darien crouched down behind her.

" Now what?" Darien asked, looking at the still blazing campfires.

" We go in fighting, unless you have a better plan,"

" Nope, can't say that I do. You ready?"

" As I'll ever be." Sailor Moon and Prince Darien stood and walked down to the valley floor. No one noticed them at first, but then a monster looked in their direction. Sailor Moon stabbed the thing and continued forward.

" You take care of them, and I'll get up to the main tent. Good luck, Darien. I love you." Serena hurried off towards the group of tents at the back of the camp. Destroying some monsters along the way, she mostly just injured them and then moved on. The first of the tents she reached was noisy and filled with manly voices. She moved onto the next, and peeked in. There was Queen Beryl, alone and asleep. She looked like a noblewoman, rather than the leader of an energy-sucking army.

Serena crept into the tent and quietly activated her beam of moon power.

" Crescent Moon Activation," she whispered.

" Guards!" Queen Beryl cried. Two men appeared out of nothingness and grabbed Sailor Moon. Queen Beryl cackled. " So, Sailor Moon, we meet again. I bet you didn't arrange it that way."

" Actually, I did. All I wanted was to talk. What do you want here, Queen Beryl? What do need an army for? And where did they all come from?"

" I need an army to conquer the world, Sailor Moon. If I get it now, I won't need to deal with you."

" Dare me to challenge you?"

" You? Challenge me? Ha, you don't have the guts."

" You give me two weeks to put together an army, and I'll show you the biggest battle in history."

" You're on. But even if you win, you'll still lose."

" I've already lost the first battle, but I will win the war, Queen Beryl."

" We'll see. Let her go boys. She's got to get home and get her army started," Queen Beryl added a menacing laugh and Sailor Moon left the tent. She grabbed Prince Darien by the cape, and they left.

" You did what?!" Raye screamed.

" Don't start with me Raye. You heard what I said. In two weeks, we wage war on Beryl." Serena sneered.

" Serena, we don't have that kind of power. We can't battle her." Lita pleaded.

" The plan is to send scouts to every village from here to England if that's what it takes." Darien explained.

" I've planned jobs for every one, and tomorrow we hold a council in Arcania." Serena pulled a palm top computer from her shirt.

" You took my computer?" Amy asked. Serena nodded.

" You're going to tell them?" Mina inquired.

" That's right, but only what I need to tell them. Now listen, Mina, you go to South Ireland and scout for warriors, female and male." Mina nodded at her assignment.

" Raye, you go to Wales, and bring back their strongest men and women," Raye sighed.

" Lita, you have the longest trip ahead of you. Go to Northern England, and Amy to Southern. You will also scout. Darien, you and Connor, if he agrees, will go to every blacksmith you find in Ireland. We need armor, and swords. I'll take care of horses, and wagons. There's also something I want to ask Pluto about. We'll separate tomorrow, after the meeting, and keep in touch."

The next morning, Sailor Moon, the Scouts, and Prince Darien stood at the front of the Council hall. Their families, friends, and council members looked on in wonderment.

" Fellow villagers, friends, and family, you may not recognize we who stand before you, but we are simply Darien, Mina, Lita, Amy, Raye, and myself, Serena. We have declared war against the epiphany of evil. We need your help to drive her away from Ireland forever. She has an army of at least one thousand. We need to build up our own, and we have only two weeks to do that. Will you help us?"

" Do we have a choice?" asked Thomas Woxley.

" There's always a choice, Thomas. But if you choose not to help us, and if we lose, then we all die. If you choose to go against us, then you must face the consequences. Even if you don't die in battle, we still may lose, and then Queen Beryl could overcome us. That, my friend, is a fate worse than death." Darien told him.

" What do you say? No matter what, the war will be fought." Mina plainly explained.

" The Council will have to convene." Said one of the elders.

" No, they won't. I say, right here and now, that Arcania goes into battle, with our dear family." Voted the old man who had greeted Serena on their first day in Arcania. His name was Seamus.

" I second that motion!" added another councilman.

" All in favor?" asked the first. Sailor Moon, and the others watched to their amazement as the hands went up throughout the hall.

Soon after the meeting, Raye and Seamus left for Wales, Mina and Brian (another elder) left for Southern Ireland, and Lita, Amy, Sean (another elder), and Tiernan (yet another elder) left for England. Connor and Darien left for Dublin soon after Raye and Seamus set out. Nora and Mary Woxley set to the task of sewing tunics for male and female warriors. Everyone in town had a job, and set to work right away. Serena secluded herself in her bedroom and called up Luna.

" Luna here," Luna said.

" Hi Luna, it's me, Serena."

" Do you have a problem Serena?"

" Yes Luna, we've waged war on Queen Beryl,"

As Raye and Seamus traveled through the countryside, they spotted a group of women dancing around a fire. Raye approached them, drawing a Phoenix arrow from her quiver. She drew it back in the bow and sent the arrow flying through the air and into the fire pit. It exploded in flame and the women turned to her.

" Magic!" said one of them.

" No, Phoenix." Raye stated. " I am a warrior, apparently like yourselves. Who are you?"

" We are a tribe of Amazons." answered one of the women.

" Amazons, huh? Would you be willing to fight for justice and peace with me?"

" It depends what justice you fight for. Who are you? I am leader of this Amazon tribe. My name is Sinead.

" O'Connor? No, I'm just kidding. I am Sailor Mars, keeper of the element of fire. I fight against evil incarnate of the worst kind. I fight to save our world from anything unworldly. I need your help."

" We'll help, and we'll provide more help if it is needed." answered Sinead.

" I'll take all the help I can get,"

" There is a tribe like ourselves in Wales. Their leader is the great Callisto, named after the woman who loved all mighty Zeus. Talia will show you to her and we will go on ahead. Where is this battle to take place?"

" In Arcania, north of here. My friend, Sailor Moon, or Serena will greet you upon your arrival. Thank you."

Amy and Tiernan headed across the English border, and Tiernan stooped to pay the boatman. Suddenly, a man kicked Tiernan from behind and stole the money that flew from his purse.

" Mercury Bubbles Blast!" Mercury cried as she attacked the attacker. Mercury jumped out of the boat and onto dry land. With visor on, she grabbed the thief by the shirt and lifted him off the ground. Then she threw him and he landed on a dock post. All at once, five or six thieves came out of hiding, and behind them came seven men dressed in full roman armor.

" Stop!" Mercury screamed at them. She powered up for a second attack, and the thieves watched, astounded. A Roman threw an arrow at her, hitting her shoulder cover and knocking her concentration.

" Stop, witch!" he called, taking up another arrow. Mercury turned to Tiernan.

" He's not afraid of my powers, Tiernan." She said to him. Tiernan nodded, and addressed the Romans.

" Fellow warriors, my friend is not a witch. Please, may we speak with you in private." One of the Romans stared at Tiernan and Sailor Mercury, then turned to his comrades.

" Yes, old man, we will; right after we rid the area of these unrighteous thieves.

Amy and Tiernan ended up winning the hearts of the Romans, and they agreed to fight against Queen Beryl.

Meanwhile, Sailor Moon traveled to a small Celtic town in Northern Ireland. Just outside of the town, she found four brown wild mustangs, an enchanting black stallion, and a white mare. When Sailor Moon came up to the stallion, he whinnied and bucked at her, but the white mare approached her, and sniffed her gauntlet and hand. Sailor Moon touched the tiny black star on the mare's forehead.

" Cosmic moon power!" she said, touching the star on the mare's forehead and the gem on her gauntlet. As the pink light expelled from the gem, Sailor Moon found herself reading the thoughts of the mare, as well as the other horses.

" Hello, I am Serena," she told them.

" We have no names," said the mare. " The stallion does not trust you, which is why he bucks."

" You can trust me for I am as gentle as a human can be. Please trust me, and help me."

" Help you to do what?" asked the stallion.

" Have you felt the disturbance?" Sailor Moon asked.

" Yes, where does it come from?" asked one of the mustangs.

" The negative energy you feel comes from the pure evil trying to take over this land, and every other. I need your help to defeat this energy source. My friends and I need to ride into battle. We have no horses of our own." Sailor Moon told the horses.

" We can help you, Serena. We only ask for a few things in return." The mare told her.

" Anything that is mine to give can be yours."

" We want names," demanded one of the mustangs.

" And food," said the stallion.

" Both I can provide," Sailor Moon smiled.

By the end of the second week, Lita and Sean returned to Arcania with a band of knights, and Mina and Brian came with two hundred Irish villagers of every shape and size. Amy, Tiernan, and the band of Romans, plus a few of their friends (about fifty of them) came around that same time. Raye and Seamus were already home, as were Connor and Darien.

When Amy walked into Arcania, she was surprised to see that the town was bustling with more life than she had ever encountered before. Sailor Moon rode to and fro on the white mare now known as Diana. A pack of wolves, belonging to the Amazons Raye had found, roamed outside the town. Four brown mustangs were ridden back and forth to the black smith shop in Rubric. Townsmen ran through different homes, carrying things back and forth across the small dirt path in the middle of Arcania. Amy walked into town and tugged on Serena's boot.

" What's up, Serena?" she asked. Serena hopped off Diana, and walked beside Amy.

" The battle begins in two days. I'm so glad your back. I have to admit this job is too much for me sometimes. I found horses and talked to them. That was new."

" What's with the wolves?" Amy asked.

" They belong to some Amazons that Raye found. They're supposed to ward off evil or something."

" Weird. Well, I brought about fifty-seven Roman warriors for you." Amy told her.

" You know, I already have this strange feeling of impending doom, Amy." Serena admitted.

" I know what you mean. I feel it too. Just keep thinking destiny. All this is destiny."

" I sometimes wish it weren't. My only joy is having all of you with me in this."

* * * *

Sailor Moon kissed Prince Darien, his cape flapping around her in the intense wind of the oncoming storm.

" Not a good day for a fight is it?" Darien looked up at the gray and cloudy sky that hung low over the foothills. He helped her up onto Diana's back. Sailor Moon took Diana's mane in her hands. Then Darien boarded his black stallion, Apollo. Sailor Mars came up to them, her mustang, Aries, trotting up alongside Diana.

" Are we ready, guys?" Sailor Mars asked.

" Are the villagers ready?" Sailor Moon asked.

" Almost," said Venus as she trotted up on her mustang, Cupid." Some of them are still suiting up."

" Hi," Sailor Jupiter waved to them, coming up on Darien's side. She was sitting sideways on Bolt, her own horse." How is everyone this lovely morning?"

" Have you looked at the sky lately, Jupiter? It's not exactly lovely."

" I'm named after the Roman god of thunder. Thunder comes with rain. Therefore, today is a good day."

" The army is ready," Sailor Mercury said, riding up on Hermes (her horse), and followed by at least five hundred men and women, not to mention wolves.

" Let's go, Diana!" Sailor Moon ordered, giving Diana a slight kick. Diana jolted forward, and the cavalry followed behind them. A mile before they hit the battlefield, negative energy seeped into Sailor Moon's pores. She could even make out Queen Beryl and her vast army. As Diana galloped up, Sailor Moon heard a beautiful voice singing in her head. She ignored it, and traveled forward, stopping twenty feet in front of the Negaverse army.

" Queen Beryl, I am Sailor Moon, champion of justice! No matter what time you invade, I will always be there to cut you down. Say good bye to Ireland, you won't be seeing her again. Charge!!" Sailor Moon shouted.

" Negaforce, CHARGE!" Queen Beryl roared.

* * * *

As the battle charged through the day, Sailor Moon found human blood on her sword, as well as the green blood of the Negaforce monsters. She didn’t see much of the scouts, or of Prince Darien, or Connor. All she saw were monsters and negatively possessed humans. Diana had been injured in the first hour of the fight, and Sailor Moon had been on foot for several hours. The rain had not yet begun to pour, but the misty drizzle bugged Sailor Moon. As of yet, her armor was only covered in the blood of her enemies, not her own.

Prince Darien charged through the embattlement with great speed, especially with the wound on his upper left arm. His sword was soaked to the hilt in green and red blood, and his boots here muddy and bloody as well. All he had on his mind was Sailor Moon. He'd been trying to find her ever since he saw Diana fall to the ground in the beginning of the fray.

Sailor Mars left her arrows in every evil thing she came across. She'd even left one in Zoisite's leg, not that it had mattered. Zoisite had attacked her with every ounce of strength in her, and that was why Sailor Mars now lie among dead bodies and crippled ones. She'd been lying there a long time now, but didn't have the ability to call out for help.

Sailor Jupiter fought vigorously with Malachite. She was no real match for him, but Malachite had killed her horse and needed to pay, as far as Jupiter was concerned. Bolt's crumpled body lie near them, a look of sheer horror in his glazed eyes.

Sailor Mercury sliced the monster on top of Sailor Venus, and helped her up.

" They're retreating, Venus." Sailor Mercury told Sailor Venus.

" I know, that was one of the last ones." Venus replied. Sailor Mercury looked out across the large field, shielding her eyes from the torrential downpour. Bodies lay strewn all about them. Sailor Mercury saw no one standing. She didn't like that one bit.

" I guess we should start looking for the living ones," Mercury said, stepping forward. She put on VR visor and scanned the area, looking for Sailor Scouts. Sailor Venus let out a whistle and Cupid came running.

As Sailor Venus led Cupid through the entourage of bodies, she saw Sailor Moon, lying still, and barely conscious. Her eyes were slightly open, and she was breathing in shallow gasps. A huge stain of blood covered her dented and torn breastplate. Her sword was near her hand, and her hair was matted with blood and dirt, which was now muddy with the rain. Sailor Venus stooped, and picked up Sailor Moon. She draped Sailor Moon over Cupid's back and continued forward.

Sailor Mercury headed forward with Hermes and Io, a wolf belonging to the Amazons. Io barked as she picked up a scent amongst the bloody remains of many dead people. Io stopped at Sailor Mars's arm. She looked dead, but Sailor Mercury scanned Sailor Mars.

" She isn't dead," Sailor Mercury sighed with relief.

Mercury picked up Mars and draped her over Hermes back.

" Don't let her fall off, Hermes," Mercury said, patting his neck. She smiled drearily, and continued forward. Next, she came across Prince Darien, who wasn't badly injured, but couldn't walk to well.

" Sailor Mercury!" he shouted, and she helped him to his feet.

" Prince Darien, you're hurt," she looked at the gaping wound on his leg.

" So are you," he pointed to the bruise on her temple and then to the cut on her hand.

" It's not as bad as yours. Climb on to Hermes." Prince Darien climbed up with Mercury's help, and she led Hermes forward.

Sailor Venus nearly tripped over Sailor Jupiter, who lay on her side, one hand over her other arm. Jupiter opened her eyes and looked at Venus.

" Sailor Venus!" she cried.

" Jupiter, your alive!" Venus cried, kneeling in the mud and blood and rain, and hugging Sailor Jupiter.

Back in Arcania, Mercury unloaded her friends from Hermes and helped Darien to sit in a chair, while Seamus elevated his leg. Brian put Sailor Mars on one of the council's long tables.

Not much later, Sailor Venus came in with Connor and Sailor Moon on Cupid's back and Jupiter at her side. When Darien saw Sailor Moon he scrambled from the chair and hobbled over to Cupid. Sailor Mercury shook her head and Tiernan lifted Sailor Moon off of the horse and laid her on the table near Prince Darien, who had gone back to sit down. Sailor Moon was now unconscious, as was Connor, who was laid on a separate table. Then Jupiter and Venus went back out again with Io, Hermes, and Cupid.

" Mercury, what's wrong with Sailor Moon?" Prince Darien asked, looking worriedly at her.

" I won't know till I get this stupid armor off her." Sailor Mercury touched Sailor Moon's gauntlet gem and Sailor Moon changed back to sweet Serena. The blood of her still seeping wound automatically soaked through her pretty blue dress. Sailor Mercury ripped Sailor Moon's dress in the middle to reveal a very large, deep gash in Serena's lower chest. Sailor Mercury activated her visor again, and checked for internal damages.

" Luckily, there aren't any broken bones, just blood loss. I'll bet she was breathing so heavily because he dented armor was pushing on her lungs. Either that or the wind was knocked out of her. She'll be okay, Darien." Sailor Mercury assured him, and tended to his leg. She wrapped it in a few clean bandages and removed him boot.

" So Darien, who cut you?"

" Malachite," he replied.

" I see. Well, I'm going to tend to Raye, but I can tell Seamus to take you and Serena back to your place if you like."

" That would be nice," Darien said, yawning.

Seamus helped Darien back to their home and into bed, then went back for Serena. After leaving Serena with Darien, Seamus returned to the small ward he and the councilmen had set up.

Darien changed back to his normal form and limped to the bucket of fresh water by the door. This water was usually used for washing his face in the morning, but now he took this and his cloth and carried it back to the bed. Then he washed Serena's blood-matted hair with the cloth and water. He also washed the blood off her chest around her bandages. Serena woke up as he washed off his leg. She looked over at him, touching his arm. Darien turned to her, attempting a smile.

" Don't bother smiling, Darien. I know that was bad. I know I was attacked by Zoisite and one of her nasty personal warriors, and I know tomorrow I'll have to get right back out there and do it again."

" No, we can't do that again. You'll be killed for sure," Darien started.

" Stop, Darien. You said yourself that it was our duty to do this job, and we're going to follow through."

" You're not. You can't, Serena. I don't want to watch you die again. I remember watching you die at the hands of Prisma and Rubeus, and already at the hands of that snake, Queen Beryl. I don't want to watch you die again."

" I won't, Darien. And neither will you. We'll live past this; we'll go back to our own time and forget this ever happened. We're going to change history back to the way it was before, but to do that we have to finish off Queen Beryl."

" I don't care about her anymore. All I care about is you. I don't want anything to happen to you, Serena."

" Like I said, nothing will happen to me. Relax, Darien. Let's just get some rest for now." Serena whispered as she fell asleep. She was holding Darien's hand as her eyes closed. Darien watched her for the longest time, before falling asleep.

Sailor Mars shook Darien a third time and this time he awakened. He looked beside him at Serena, who was still asleep.

" We should go," Sailor Mars whispered.

" Without Serena?" Darien asked.

" She's not strong enough to fight, and the rest of us are ready."

" Who's the 'rest of us'?"

" The other scouts. We're going to fight Beryl, Malachite, and Zoisite. Are you coming?"

" Yeah. I'll be right out." Mars left and Darien bent down and kissed Serena's lips.

" I love you Serena, and I'll always be with you."

Sailors Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus, along with Prince Darien, walked into Queen Beryl's camp. The whole place was deserted, and not a single campfire blazed. Malachite and Zoisite met them as they walked through.

" So, Scouts, we meet again," Zoisite sneered.

" And Prince Darien as well, such a treat." Malachite grinned menacingly.

" Cut the chit-chat, kids. We're here to fight, nothing more." Darien drew his sword.

" But where's Sailor Moon?" Zoisite asked, playing innocent.

" She's taking a nap," Sailor Mars snapped.

Serena woke up, and rubbed her eyes. She looked around, but already knew Darien and the others had left without her. She got up, holding her chest.

" Crescent Moon Power!" Serena transformed and ran out of the cottage. She grabbed Cupid, who was munching on some grass, and she boarded him. Then she rode off toward Queen Beryl's camp.

Connor stared after her, hugging his shoulder with one hand, and his sister Nora with the other.

Sailor Moon hopped off of Cupid just in time to see Darien destroy Malachite. Malachite disappeared and Sailor Moon ran towards Prince Darien. Before her eyes, Queen Beryl approached Prince Darien and with a single hand movement, sent him to the ground on top of a pile of Sailor Scouts. Sailor Moon choked on her scream and felt the blood run through her veins at an intensified speed.

" Queen Beryl, you've gone too far!" Sailor Moon shouted.

" Sailor Moon!" Queen Beryl smiled. " You've destroyed my army, and your friends have destroyed my greatest generals. Now I'm going to destroy you, for good." Beryl powered up and attacked Sailor Moon, but Sailor Moon was prepared for this.

" Cosmic Crescent Moon Power!" she called to the sky. Touching both gauntlets together, her powers surrounded her. Connor could see them in Arcania; they were so bright. Queen Beryl screamed as the power intensified. The spirits of her friends surrounded her as they had in the future (the Sailor Scouts' own time).

" Golden Kingdom Power!" Prince Darien's spirit said.

" Mars Fire Power!"

" Venus Love Power!"

" Jupiter Thunder Power!"

" Mercury Ice Power!"

" Crescent Moon Power!" Sailor Moon finished, sending a wave of power at Queen Beryl.

" You haven't seen the last of me!" Queen Beryl screamed.

" Oh yes we have!" Sailor Moon shouted back, her wound hurting her and her body weakening. She dropped to her knees.

Luna and Artemis stared out into the night. Even now they could see the city changing.

" This time Beryl really is to strong for them, Artemis," Luna worried.

" We must send her the crystal." Artemis turned to Sailor Pluto.

" Give me the crystal, Luna." Sailor Pluto ordered. With crystal in hand, Sailor Pluto sent it and a time key to the past.

" Will it get to them in time, Pluto?" Luna asked.

" It should, it just has to."

* * * *

Sailor Moon, now down on her hands and knees, was weakening fast. Queen Beryl's energy was too strong for her. The negative energy enveloped her, but as it did, a small box appeared in front of her. She opened it to find the Imperium Silver Crystal, along with a time key similar to the one that Reeni had worn around her neck. Sailor Moon took up the crystal, and shouted.

" Cosmic Moon Power!" Just then, the Crescent Moon Wand appeared from out of nowhere. Sailor Moon secured the crystal in the wand and activated it.

" Crescent Wand Elimination!" she sounded and stood.

Even with the new force, her friends were down, and Sailor Moon was on her own.

" Mother, help me!" Sailor Moon cried, tears pouring from her eyes as she stepped towards Queen Beryl. Sailor Moon felt her mother's presence inside her and took another step forward. Queen Beryl was getting smaller by the second, and her power weakened. Then Queen Beryl disappeared.

"Thank you Mother, thank you," Sailor Moon sighed.

Then, standing amongst her friends, she left her communicator on the ground and held the time key firmly in her hand. It had been four months and a week since their time travel, and they were finally going home. Before they left, Sailor Moon whistled for Cupid. Cupid came up and Sailor Moon touched his head to communicate with him.

" Take my communicator to Seamus, Cupid. He will know to keep it." Cupid nodded and retrieved the communicator from the ground.

" Time key, take us home!" Sailor Moon said, and the vortex enveloped them.

Serena and the others landed in front of Cherry Hill Temple, two weeks after they'd left Ireland and the tenth century. Serena was the only one even remotely conscious, but even she was wiped from their journey. Serena looked around her and grabbed the temple gate to pull herself up. She woke up the others by shaking them, and Darien kissed her even before he noticed their new surroundings. Raye was the first to notice after Serena, and she hugged Serena with all her might.

" You beat Beryl, didn't you?" Mina asked.

" Yeah, and this time for good."

" I'm going home to see my mother. You realize we've been gone almost five months!" Amy said, then left.

" Four months, three weeks, four days to be exact," said Serena.

" Well, I'm going to go find Artemis," Mina said, running off. " I'll see all of you tomorrow."

" I'm going to call Ken," Lita said, running home.

" I have to run in and see Grandpa!" Raye cried.

" I still have my car in the lot, Serena. Let's go see your family, huh?" he said, taking her hand.

Serena and Darien walked up to the front door and knocked. Sammy came to the door, and opened it with a sad frown on his face.

" Hi Sammy!" Serena greeted him. Sammy looked up, and tears started pouring down his face.

" Serena!!!" he screamed with delight. Serena picked up her younger brother and hugged him with all her might.

" Don't fool us like that, Sammy. We don't like getting our hopes up." Serena heard her mother say. Carrying Sammy, Serena walked into the kitchen with Darien in tow.

" He's not tricking you, Mom. I'm really home!" Serena said. Mrs. Tsukino looked up from the book she was reading.

" Serena!!" She cried. Serena dropped Sammy and ran up to her mother. Sammy hugged Darien's leg.

" Where's Dad?" Serena asked.

" Upstairs, dear." Her mother sobbed.

" Dad!!" Serena yelled up the stairs. Mr. Tsukino came halfway down the stairs and looked down into Serena's big blue eyes.

" Serena!!"

Serena stared at the clock on the nightstand. It beeped like crazy, and the digits read 8:10. School started at 8:15.

" Oh, why didn't someone wake me up?" Serena fussed, and threw on her school uniform. Then she ran down the stairs and grabbed her school bag, and lunch.

" See you guys later. Thanks for lunch, Mom!" Serena called as she ran out the door.
