You can try the free too! Ouch! ...and to think, actually prefer Wendy's to McDonald's! ~_ Firstly, please forgive me, this isn't really up-to-scratch. I accidentaly deleted my "GoLive" web-page builder, & now can't find the CD either, so I'm having to do this the old-fashioned way, - typing in raw html by hand using BBEdit. :-( |

The Sun Dragon Clan is one of many clans in the Delta Tao Software on-line real-time "massively multi-player" fantasy adventure role-playing game called "Clan Lord". It's still pretty much being developed & improved, although is now available commercially on a limited basis. (I was a beta tester before, & have been playing now for over 3 years in total. The 'soft' commercial release was in May '99).

| There are only about 200 people in the "world" (a group of islands called the Lok Grotton Chain) at the moment, but there are updates, bug-fixes, patches, improvements, new and different things every fortnight or so. When Delta Tao have tweaked it a bit more & start to advertise and promote it properly, it's expected that number of people "clanning" will reach over 2000 at any one time.

You can find Delta Tao's site at http://www.deltatao.com/clanlord/index.html from where the software can be downloaded. Typing "demo" in the user name (or account name, I forget which) & password will let you try out the interface & some of the moves without having to pay for a password. This first version of the Demo isn't very good, (loose unofficial translation:- it sucks) as it is in a separate, small world, & you will miss all the interaction between players, the clans, the hunts, rescues etc in far flung places. Its also likely you'll be the only one there, & without companions to co-operate with, will fall pretty quickly. They have a "tour" of the rest of the world, which gives you a brief glimpse of what is happening in the main areas The same client which you download can be used to play Clan Lord movies, however (available from many sites via the DT page, notably the Red Quill clans page) which although you cant "drive" are a much better indicator of what the game is all about... The game is designed for Mac (Apple Macintosh Computers) only at this stage, with maybe a year wait for the Windows version, but will run now on Windows with a Mac emulator, (such as Basilisk II) which can be downloaded for free from:- http://www.kearney.net/~mhoffman/basiliskii.html Please contact me directly for any other questions you may have. Good Luck, & hope to see you in Puddleby soon!
