Searching on the Net

Having trouble finding what u want on the net? Getting way too many pages brought back from your search? I've got a few tips that should be well known, but aren't for searching.

1. Use quotes ". . . ." When u search for pages on, say, Benjamin Franklin, put it in as "Benjamin Franklin". This will bring back pages that only have Benjamin and Franklin in them combined. If u didn't use " " u would have pages ccming that are about Benjamin Bagger or Franklin Birch. This greatly reduces pages brought back and can be used for most any search.

2. If you get no pages back, use synonyms. If this doesn't work, u can also go to other search engines of course.

3. Wildcards (asteriks). If u want to find things related to your search item. Such as, searching for "DK's*" would bring back DK's Home on the Web, DK's Weightlifting, and such.

4. You can also go to the search engine's help to get specialized help on the search engine your currently using.

5. If these tips don't help u or u can't understand them, go to Ask the Surf Guru where there are some pages to be read on searching on the web.
