Tank was setup Feb. 1st 2000. All rock, fish and most corals were added from previous tanks I have had for the last 4 years.
Tank
Its a 120 gallon All Glass aquarium that I had drilled by a local fish store (Marine Oasis). The hole was drilled dead center on the bottom and 1 inch from the back wall. I purchased some black acrylic and cut 2 pieces the same size as the height of my tank to make the triangular shaped overflow that was placed in the middle of the tank against the back wall. The overflow was fitted with 11/2" PVC to make the stand pipe.
Sump & Flow
The sump is an All Glass 20 gallon tank. For my return I have a Mag Drive 1800 running to 2-1/2" SeaSwirls also for circulation I mounted 2 Maxi Jet 900's behind the rocks. The sump has been filled with live rock and has macro algae growing all over it. Its lit by a DIY acrylic mirrored canopy with 2 13w PC's. I also have a 300w heater that is controlled by an Omega temperature controller that also controls the fans in my canopy. The only mechanical filtration I use is a Ev-90 protein skimmer. I add 40 mil's of part 1 and part 2 of Bionic everyday and nothing else. I change water when I get ambitious enough to do it.
Cabinet
Cabinet was DIY by yours truly . Its a solid oak stand framed with 2x4's. It has 4 shelves in the middle lit by 7w bulbs controlled by a dimmer switch. Condensation elimination is performed by 2 30cfm fans mounted on back wall that run continuously.
Canopy
Canopy solid oak with 2x4 framing. It has 2 130 cfm fans controlled by a temperature controller. These fans blow in directly on 2-250w 10k bulbs and 2-VHO URI actinic. Reflector was purchased from Aquatic Lighting.
