The People's Princess
Solace Of The Beloved
Beloved spirit torn away in the night.
Mother England suffered pain and plight.
As dawns brilliant light bath some distant glen.
Unto Heaven her soul did ascend.
In grace and elegance no longer may we take part.
Emblazen memories of an angelic spirit instead kept close to heart.
A nation weeps and mourns it's beloved lost.
A multitude of nations, let them reach across the land and the sea.
And that which keeps us from the peace we long to see.
Give unselfishly to our sister nation in need.
Our silent words of compassion and comfort a noble deed.
Help them find solace in this life.
In a time of deep inner strife.
Reflect now on the good she brought.
Not of petty scandals, the tabloids from the papparazzi bought.
Many sought to bring her down.
Criticizing her for living life.
Yet never did she give up her ground.
Though surely all this cut like a knife.
Always she faced the world with a smile.
A sentient bastion of strength and integrity.
Strong and sure as the mighty Nile.
And now the play of life moves on.
Her words of peace and hope never gone.
Let's us nurture them deep in our hearts.
As a doe nurtures it's fawn.
Brought together as one in sorrow.
Let us walk together into tomorrow.
Let us give them solace at any cost.
Let us help them heal the emotional frost.
And as she comes one with the earth.
Take her strength in us and give peace it's birth...
