ISOSCELES TRIANGLES

Isosceles triangles are those triangles, which have only two equal sides, and only two equal
internal angles
.

Because two angles have to be the same size, and all three angles
within the triangle
must add up to 180 degrees, so it follows that the two equal angles must have
individual angles of
less than 90 degrees.
(<90 degrees)

There is a special case of isosceles triangle that contains a
right-angle (90 degrees) this then means the internal angles of such a triangle are:-

90, 45, and 45 degrees
.

Right-angled triangles are a 'special case' of
triangle and have a relationship between the lengths of their individual sides, this is called
THE
PYTHAGOREAN THEOREM
.  More can be found about this theory, and others by following the links from this web-site.
