Legal Aid & Human Rights Cell
Free legal aid and human
rights cell is set-up for women at district courts Khanewal where the lawyers
engaged by Pakistan Lions Youth Council, provide legal assistance to the
depressed and oppressed women of the area in their court cases total free
of cost. The cases, which are dealt relating the women, include dissolution
of marriage, maintenance, guardianship of children, marriage and other
related cases. The same centre also condemns the human rights violations
and encourage to uphold the human rights activities.

Sexual Health
The reproductive
health centre is set-up under auspices of the NGO at a local hopsital of
Khanewal where the awareness besides treatment is provided regarding family
planning, population, HIV/AIDS, adolescents health, Polio, Hepatitis-B
and other heinous diseases.
A recently launched
project conducted by the NGO is the reproductive health programme in Tulamba
Town (Khanewal Distt) and Khanewal City where two centres are being run
at the above places respectively. The aim regarding this, is to control
the rising population in the areas and built awareness about the necessity
for family planning and to give awareness about adolescents health in the
respective areas. Contraceptives were given to local people not only to
control population, but also to prevent the further spread of HIV/AIDS.
Anti Narcotics
Cell, PLYC & UNO
The Anti Norcotics
Cell provides awareness to the young people about the heinous results of
using drugs and narcotics. The centre also arranges seminars and workshops
in this connection with the theme to curb narcotics.
The NGO arranges
seminars workshops, conferences on the above topics besides observing the
Universal Days on the said issues and other important topics including
environment as per the charter of United Nations.
PLYC strongly
supports the work and principles of the United Nations and in this Context,
it observes all UN days. On the occasion of Polio day, PLYC always arranges
the functions in connection with administering Polio drops to the babies.

Child Labor
Detection & Curbing Cell
As the area
faces important chellenges in guaranteeing protection of children rights,
a Child Labor Detection & Curbing Cell is being run at Khanewal by
Pakistan Lions Youth Council where the NGO through which the members and
volunteers work to detect the Child Labor at factories, mills, shops of
auto mechanics, furniture makers and other business spots. According to
conservative estimates there are more than 4.3 million children in the
5-14 age group, are engaged in strenuous and hazardous labor at the cost
of their education and health. Rising poverty, huge family size, lack of
employment and basic education are the basic causes for child labor. Apart
from the child labor, children are abused, kidnapped, exported to the Middle
East as camel jockeys. The same cell after detecting child labor cases
provides awareness to the child labor users inconnection with preferring
their health and education.
Youth Promotion
Centre
The Youth Promotion
Centre under aegis of Pakistan Lions Youth Council is set-up at NGO's headquarter
which provides awareness to the youth regarding their health. It also provides
training to the young people about the precautionary measures and treatment
connection with sexual transmitted diseases (STD's) besides giving awareness
about adolescents health. The centre also gives information to the youth
about education.
HIV/AIDS Resource
Centre
An HIV/AIDS
resource centre has been set-up at Niazi Chowk Khanewal under the auspices
of Pakistan Lions Youth Council where the awareness about the STD,s, is
provided to the truck drivers and young people. As per a latest report,
the truck drivers are involved in expanding HIV/AIDS in India. In this
connection the NGO also carries a project awarded by UNICEF namely "HIV/AIDS
among high risk group (truck drivers) in which the truck drivers are provided
the STD's awareness through Video-films. The truck drivers also provided
condoms to remain save from the said disease. The same centre also provides
general medicines to the drivers regarding cough, pain and accident injuries.
