Also known as Convoy in Japan, Optimus Prime was the leader of the autobots during their battles with Megatron and the Decepticons. He was severely injured several times, but was saved each time by the efforts of Ratchet,Wheeljack, and the rest of the autobots. He finally succumbed to a mortal wound inflicted by Megatron during a decepticon attack on autobot city. Before his passing he passed the Autobot Matrix of Leadership to his most trusted ally, Ultra Magnus. He was later revived by the Quintessons to fight the Hate Plague that threatened the entire galaxy.
