Lapointe delivers a nice hip check to St.Louis During the 6 -1 Blow out at the Joe Louis Arena during Game 2.
Chris Pronger, Captain of the St.Louis Blues, took an 85 mph slap-shot in the chest late in the 3rd period during game 2. Mironov shot the puck on goal and Pronger tried to block the shot. After being hit Pronger went down to one knee. He then tried skating away but only got one stride in before collaping on the ice. Medical assistance was given by both teams. Pronger had to be taken off the ice on a stretcher and was rushed to a local Detroit hospital. It was later announced that the shock from the impact caused his heart to beat irregularly. Pronger was released the next day and played in game 3.
