THE NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP POLICE DEPARTMENT, BUCKS COUNTY PENNSYLVANIA IS INVESTIGATING THE DISAPPEARANCE OF JOSEPH JOHN FORMICA JR.
Formica was last seen at his residence in Northampton Township, Bucks County Pennsylvania on August 24 1980. A missing persons report was taken on September 11 1980 and a cursory investigation was done at that time. On December 14 1997 this matter was reopened for investigation. A search of several national and loval computer data bases has revealed no activity using his name, social security number or fingerprints. There is no criminal history record. There are no dental charts or dental X-Rays available. Since 1980 there has been no contact with Formica through family members or local friends. Formica enjoyed Basketball and Water Sports.
It is known that Formica traveled to Northern California and Hawaii prior to his disapperance, there is speculation that Formica may have left home to join some type of CULT GROUP/Organization. Formica had become associated with: THE PROSPEROS SCHOOL 53-193 KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY, HAUULA HAWAII 96717-9726. The members of this school are also known as the group PROSPEROS and were located in the Northern California and Hawaii. The PROSPEROS GROUP is considered by some as a cult group or organization.
At the time of his disapperance Formica had been diagnosed as Paranoid Schizophrenic and had ben taking a medication called STALAZINE.
The Lansdale Pennsylvania Office of THe FBI has opened a Domestic Police Cooperation case no: 62D-PH-83054. We are asking all law enforcement agencies to research their files/data bases/AFIS systems to ascertain any contact with Formica since 1980. We are soliciting anyone with information as to the current whereabouts or status of Formica to contact
