Curriculum

Roberto Reymond: born at Milano, Italy, in the afternoon of October 28, 1959.

In 1979 got his upper school leaving certificate (score 50/60), at the "P.Hensemberger" Technical Institute, at Monza (MI), with address "Informatics". From that period survived not only the diploma and several books, but also some meters of paper tape, which was the standard input device for the HP 2000 computer of the school.

Called in the Army in 1980, he took advantage of that time learning how to drive a truck, which left him with an Italian class D driving license.

Short after that, in August 1981, he entered in IBM, in the Information System division, as system operator. In 1988 he got his first specimen of a strange code, someone called "virus", helping to contain and eradicate an infection. BTW, it was a Bouncing Ball. We loose his footsteps 'till April 1991, when, as System Technician (another way to tell you are an Expert System Operator) he left I.S., joining a software group, the so called "PS/2 Hotline", charged to give help in using the applications that were at the time sold by IBM. After few months, he became SE (System Engineer).

In the meanwhile, he continued in helping internal and external people with viruses, so that when in 1992 the IBM Italia CERT (Computer Emergency Response Team) was established, he was asked to join. Which he did.

Then, the story runs on two parallel lines: on a side the job in the Software Division, during which he was also the IBM PSP BBS SysOp, and took the time to become OS/2 Certified Engineer, on the other the work in IBM Italian CERT.

The last news give him into the Information Asset Security, from March 1997, as a sort of consultant. As (more or less) expert in Lotus Notes, he yet did a couple of security certifications, one in Italy and the other in UK, while learning about and working on Windows NT, Lotus Notes and Tivoli, and often lost somewhere in running after some virus...8-)
