MI 1: The Secret of Monkey Island:

Guybrush Threepwood wants to be a pirate. He is on Meele island and is told by the blind lookout to talk to the 3 important looking pirates in the Scumm bar to begin his journey in becoming a pirate. The important looking pirates tell him to complete the three trails: Steal the idol of many hands from the mayors house, beat the sword master,and find the treasure, then come back to them after Guybrush does so. But, one ghost pirate stands in his way, the ghost pirate LeChuck! He captures the love of his life, Elaine and brings her to Monkey Island. In order to save her, you must gather a crew, go to Monkey Island and save her, while fighting pirates along the way with your insults.

MI2: LeChucks Revenge:

Guybrush, now a mighty pirate, has come back in search of the treasure "Big Whoop." He's told almost everyone his story of how he has blown LeChuck up, although he kept LeChuck's beard which is still alive and wiggling. Once again, Guybrush must defeat leChuck, beating pirates along the way with your insults.

MI3: The Curse of Monkey Island:

Big Whoop was not such a great treasure after all, and worse yet, LeChuck is still roaming around. This time he got his body back so he's no longer a spirit, but a Zombie. While on LeChuck's ship, Guybrush finds a diamond ring, perfect for Elaine, so that he can marry her. Once you get off the ship, Guybrush gives her the ring and asks her to marry him. But the ring was cursed, and it turned her into a golden statue. Guybrush leaves her and ran off to seek help to get rid of the curse. Guybrush should have hidden her, because while he left her there on the beach, the pirates took her and left. Now Guybrush has to save her and defeat LeChuck... yet again.
