Technology has come a long way to assist the blind. For example; I have an electronic Magnifier, which I use to read very small print or regular size print. I also carry a magnifying glass with me so I can read price tags when I go shopping or menus in restaurants.
When I use the Internet, I set the font size to largest which helps
me a lot. I also have a 17" monitor which makes things a bit larger.
Politically Correct Labels
As a person with a disability, I 've been called different things as time has changed or corrected the labels given. I've been called; Blind, Partially Blind, Partially Sighted, Legally Blind, Visually Impaired and now apparently I am Visually Challenged. I'm waiting for the day they call us Visually Unaccomodating.
Of all of these terms, I prefer Partially sighted, because it sounds so optimistic.
