It's dark out side even when there is light
I can't see a thing in the day or the night.
I look all around and all that I see,
are the outlines of what's in front of me.
I can hear all of the sounds,
of all of the things all around.
It's a mystery to me
why this came to be,
but hey, what can I do.

Welcome to the world of the blind.
Where you'd think, you'd go out of your mind.
Welcome to the world of the blind,
if you try it, you just might find,
it's not so bad.

Even though I can't see you
doesn't I don't like to go to,
see a movie or just watch TV,
it doesn't really matter, it's all the same to me.
When you come to talk to me,
there's no need to shout you see,
just because my eyes don't see you comin'
doesn't mean I can't hear you hummin'.

Welcome to the world of the blind,
Where you'd think you'd go out of your mind.
Welcome to the world of the blind,
If you try it you just might find,
it's not so bad.

When I walk down the street,
some of the people that I meet.
take the time to stop and stare,
I don't really mind, I think it means they care.
When people see me with my cane,
they sometimes treat me like I'm insane.
When people talk to me I sometimes find,
a feeling of pity is on their mind.

Welcome to the world of the blind,
where you'd think, you'd go out of your mind.
Welcome to the world of the blind.
If you try it, you just might find,
It's not so bad.

On Occasion I've heard it said
"If I were blind, I'd rather be dead!"
When you're near me,
please don't fear me,
If there's one thing true,
and let me tell you,
If I could I'd shout out loud,
I may be different, but I am proud.
