Love on the Net
Addiction
You get up in the A.M. wandering
round,
You sit on the couch while the comp stares you down,
You haven't yet showered or cleaned the house,
But have the urge to grab that mouse.
You click on connect and online you
go,
The urge is so strong that you just can't say no,
So its off to the e-mail you go to check,
But there's none so you're ready to disconnect,
But then you remember ICQ,
As you wait, you wonder who,
Will be online to say 'How are you?',
Or to help someone who's feeling blue.
Then it connects, there's someone
online,
You begin to feel just fine,
You wait for those URL's to get here,
But then there's a pause you begin to fear.
But soon they pop in like snowflakes
from a storm,
Then you feel all toasty and warm,
But then ICQ becomes quiet and still,
But you just haven't had your fill.
So its off to LineOne to chat away,
You log in for a moment but get stuck all day,
You share your happiness your dreams and pain,
Never heard are words of blame.
These people you add to your ICQ list,
And discover that this is what your life has missed,
These people who seem to care,
And wish you were there.
Night begins to fall your hair's still
a mess,
You look around and must confess,
'Been here all day I've gotta go,
But I'll be back later don't you know.'
You fight the mouse to let you
disconnect,
But it is so hard, your life it affects,
You gather the strength to to control the mouse,
Cause you know you have to go clean the house.
But then the strength it disappears,
You begin to have the greatest fears,
To leave your friends and those you know,
To go back to your world of woe
But as you hit the disconnect,
And feel that break from the Internet,
You look at the monitor and wonder why you did that
As stunned there in your chair you're sat.
So you run round to do what you must
real quick,
Then back on the Internet with a click,
Back to the lobby, where safe and sound you'll be,
No one to bother you,
Just you, your friends and ME!!!
