Hance Michel Heider came from Germany to America in 1729 with his wife Katherine (Chasteen) Heider. In the late 1760s, three of his children, Catrina, Michael, and Benjamin moved to North Carolina. Michael was one of the signors of the Washington Compact and the Halifax Petition. Michael was a member of the Watauga Association and fought many battles in the Revolutionary War. My research has focused on the descendants of Michael and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.<< for this information LINK TO >> http://www.flash.net/~mgmmdm/ancestors.html#hyder

[NI194] picture of John and Ella Feb. 1977

[NI228] Lived in Cornwall and Liverpool, England. Pennsylvania and Missouri. Possibly Michigan.
Occupation: Mining Engineer
married Catherine Ault Boyer Carter
Buried Orange Cemetery, north of Aurora, Mo.

Summary: Not much is known, at this time, about Thomas Ripper except that he was born in Cornwell, England and one of seven children. Since the Cornwall area is a mining part of England it is not surprising he became (what was called in those days) a mining engineer.
Stories told and handed down throught the family places Thomas in Liverpool, England , as an adult. He sailed from Liverpool to the states sometime around 1868. This date is written in George Lewis and Mary Alice's Bible (Stone) He returned to England seven times and it is thot he may have had another family there.

****************************************
In the 1851 Census in Cornwall England there is a Thomas aged 12 living at St. Blazey and it says born at St. Blazey and that is very close to St. Austell. He may have been born in St. Blazey but the registration district might have been St Austell.
With him are Mary/Head/Widow/aged 55/b. St. Austell
Jane/Daug/24b. St Ewe
Eliza/Daug/b. St Blazey

On the IGI, 2 Sept 1838, there is Thomas born St. Austell to William and Mary Ann (Rickard)

****************************************
In the 1871 Cornwall Census listed as occupants of dwelling is
