Beginnings of Beta Chapter of Rho Pi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Michigan State University

On February 13, 2000, at 5pm in the Trophy Room of Snyder Hall, Beta Chapter of Rho Pi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., had their first informational meeting. In attendance were the following guest:

1. Kenneth Nelson, Jr.

2. Terrance Wilbert

3. Laudry Tientcheu

4. Edward Bailey

5. Jesus G. Mallari

6. Bernardo Dargan

7. Marvin Shorter, Jr.

The Brothers present were Brother Maurice A. H. Gatling and Brother Khary I. Parker. Also present was Soror Ervina N. Gatling.

The Welcome, Prayer, Fraternity?s Mission and Description of the Intake Process were done by Brother Maurice A.H. Gatling�

Summation of History, Expansion and what does it mean to you, and the Advantages of being a member were done by Brother Khary I. Parker.

Q and A were facilitated by Brothers Parker, Gatling and Soror Ervina Gatling.

Dinner was served after the Q & A session. The menu was Spaghetti, tossed salad, garlic bread, sodas and for desert Harmonious Hummingbird Cake.�

Each brother was offered and accepted invitation to membership by taking an application. Applications are due back by 5pm, Wednesday, February 16, 2000.

The Informational ended at 7:15pm.

I am pleased to inform you all that as of February 28, 2000 at 11:26 a.m. EST, the Michigan State University recognized the Beta Chapter of Rho Pi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. On this same date and time, Rho Pi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. officially became a National Fraternity.

On behalf of the Founders and the Alumni Chapter Executive Board, I would like to congratulate each and every member of this brotherhood. For it was your dedication and loyalty to this organizations that made this possible.

With continued hard work, and full participation from each and every brother, we can continue to spread the gospel of Rho Pi.
