The Pirate Show
The Valley of Fire is located at the northern end of Lake Mead. It is most easily reached by going East on I-15 and taking the Valley of Fire exit. On the way you will pass through part of the Paiute Tribal lands. The park has some marvelous rock formations. The area is known for the Anasazi Indians that roamed the area long ago. There are some excellent examples of Petroglyphs left on the rocks. Well worth a visit although the park does charge a $3.00 entrance fee per car.Wear shoes for walking as the trails are both sandy and rocky.
The Pirate Show happens every hour and a half at Treasure Island on the Strip. They have created Skull Cove where the British Navy attacks a pirate hideout. It's free and the pyrotechnics are awesome.
