Fort Lauderdale, Florida

I love the ocean and everything that has anything to do with that wonderful medium that water is. It is no surprise then that Fort Lauderdale, Florida is one of my favorite vacation spots. This page is not only a dedication to Florida as a state, but my way of keeping track of all the things that one can do there, such as spending unrestricted hours at the beach.

First thing is first: how to get there. IF you either come from Miami or the Fort Lauderdale airport and do not have a ride, check this information out.

A great starting place to plan a visit to Fort Lauderdale is: www.fortlauderdalebeach.com, where everything from the weather, places to stay, eat, visit, as well as local services and rides can be found. In short, everything Fort. The people in charge can be reached at:

CALENDAR OF EVENTS

The Land, Epcot Center

When going to Florida, there is little excuse not to drop by one of the most wonderful places of them all:

My favorites parks include Epcot Center and DisneyQuest (Chicago will have its own DisneyQuest by 1999!)

A view from the third floor of Hooters (the sidewalk the runs most through most of the beach -South side at least- is great; there is nothing like a good long bike in the middle of the day before jumping into the water)

This sidewalk is but one of the many projects the city of Ft. Lauderdale began in 1993 to revitalize the beach.

Two views of the Fort area, right next to my granparent's apartment (top: the beach in front of the Sea Ranch Club apartments; bottom: view of the beach from the balcony of the apartment)
