A picture-collage of me

As reference, I was born in 1973 (May 28). Since a good number of these pictures will need some cross-checking before I can safely say exactly when they were taken, I will just give an estimate as to when I think they were taken.

I believe this picture was taken in 1977

I had to have some words about these very early pictures, mostly because they are the ones that make me think the most and because they were taken during a time in my life that I have no recollection of. As a geneticists, I have to put forth a scientific explanation:

Me at Lake Caperia. I think I was 6 years old

Mom, do you know who this is?. I know she was a friend but can't remember the name!

when you look at me when I was really young, you can see a very close resemblance to many of the new members (younger) generations of the family. It is wonderful to appreciate this as you grow older and start piecing out how the genetic component as well as the environmental component changes us to what we are, making us look more and more different.

I like this one (smile)

I want to guess this picture was taken around 1981. I think the shirt is really cool (I even went through a period later in my life when I adopted that dressing style again)

1985? Always liked the beard and mustache

The objective of this collage is a way to LOOK at myself through time. Since it is a graphical story, I have not tried to keep this in any specific order at all, and some pictures may come and go as new pictures are taken, and old ones unearthed.

ENJOY!

Colombia 1994, right after saying goodbye to a good portion of my hair (thanks for the haircut Eli)

There was a time during which I disliked people taking pictures of me. It started when I started living by myself, in England.

Working in Colombia in 1994, the same year the world cup was played in the USA.

A crazy-haired scientist in Jeff's lab at Purdue, 1993

As a result there is a period during which most representative picture of me would be something like the one above, angry that I had to pose for a picture. Thankfully, it did not last that much, but I must admit I miss not having pictures of those transitory times as I left home and started living by myself. Eventually I also got the other extreme, as when I graduated from High School and during our Senior trip to Macchu Picchu someone took this picture of me with lipstick (below). Today my only defence is to say: gotta try everything once -smile.

No matter where I am, I can't help but think of a sandy beach and a clear sky next to the ocean (Bahama 1996)

Had to see how it looked!

It just takes too much work to cut it every other day! (1997)

Feels really good, nearly as good as playing with long curls

Thinking ahead (one of my favorite places, Epcot Center, 1996)

Japan 1995

Me and PEPE, Chrismass 1998

This picture wa taken during the PRL's annual GutterBall bowling tournament, 1998. From left: the Babe, Mike the man, and my mustache and goatee version.

As everything in this world, this picture collection comes to an end. Good night (Disney World, 1998 -after a whole day of having too much fun -remember Ale?)
