If you're looking for stuff, look at these sites first.
Yahoo is my favourite search engine on the Web. Check out Yahoo UK and Ireland, Yahoo France and Yahoo Germany. Another great set of reference sites can be found at CNet.com, including Shareware.com and Search.com.
If you're looking for something different, try Humorsearch.com. Before you rush to find some amazingly good jokes however, notice the spelling of humour, and think how many funny Americans you know. (If you know any Americans at all. I don't, but all the ones you hear about seem stupid rather than funny. In some cases however, they are both. Click here.) Does have some good stuff in it though.
If you want to find a newsgroup on a particular topic, or you want to see whether a certain topic has ever been discussed in a newsgroup, visit Dejanews.com. Newsgroups are quite useful for both asking questions about, and discussing certain topics, and also keeping up to date with new web sites. (They also contain a lot of crap, especially people offering 'Get rich quick' schemes which involve you sending them money!!)
