June 1997.
I have just finished making this page. As I write, I am very ill with Glandula Fever. I don't remember a time when I have felt this ill before. Boys and Girls - be careful who you kiss! (NB. There is no underlying meaning to that advice. Liz, please do not take offence!)
I am supposed to be doing my A-levels next week, even though I have been ill, and the doctor has told me I am to stay in bed all day. I don't relish the thought of sitting a 3hr exam, when I am this ill, having missed out on a good month of revision time.
All being well (i.e. me) I finish my exams on June 23. Liz is coming down that day, which whill be really cool, and then on 26 June, I am going to Friedrichshafen, Germany. I leave Chesterfield at about 0600 on the coach, to Heathrow, from where I fly to Zurich, Switzerland, before taking the train from Zuruch to Romanshorn, Switzerland, and the ferry to Friedrichshafen.
I will be in Friedrichshafen between 26 June and 28 July, between 3 August and 13 August, and between 18 August and 9 September. 28 July to 3 August, I will be in Koblenz, Germany, on tour with the North East Derbyshire Senior Wind Band. (This may sound posh (!?) but is not. I have been to one practice since Easter, and will spend more than half the time in Koblenz drinking. Cool!) 13 - 18 August I will be back home, for those dreaded A-level results.
