First the report... then the pictures... hang in there!

Well.. here we go again... fasten your seat belts.  There are LOTS of pictures this time.  I had 3 disks and Rod and Nancy each gave me a disk, so there were LOADS to choose from.  I picked out 36, which is why it has taken me all day to get them cropped and fixed up with captions and stuff to put in here.  I had notes about who did what pics but now they are all mixed up, so you just have to enjoy the photographs without individual credits.

Oh... by the way... I need to explain that the photos I put up on these sites are smaller versions of the originals.  I work these especially for the net.  They are not very good for printing, so if you ever want an original that is more suitable for printing, give me a holler.  I always save the originals (unless I foul up) and usually also an interim copy that is the adjusted, enhanced and cropped photo at the larger size... I mention that because there are a couple of photos in this bunch that are really beautiful shots, so that reminded me.

The date was 2-2-2... and the luncheon was too-too-too marvelous...  fun and friendly and just a grand time.  I finally figured out how to describe it ... it's like having a wonderful Family Reunion once a month.. with lots of hugs and just a general good time.

It was so wonderful to have Earl and Emily join our happy group.  I was so thrilled to finally have a chance to meet them and they are every bit as sweet as expected.  Emily is the most beautiful lady, just as Earl said, and she has astonishingly blue eyes that just sparkle like mad when she smiles her sweet smile, which is often.  We are all so  glad to have them! Earl is very active in SeniorNet on the web.  He's Earl7Pearl over there and is known as "Earl the Pearl," which really does suit him because he's a goldurned jewel!

Our March luncheon is already promising to be really really special.. with several visitors and newcomers hoping to be there.  I have heard from TigerLeely that she and Vuksie are planning to attend and that they are also trying to get Donut and maybe even The Famous Wiley to visit with us again.  Then I heard from ShourCap (Sammani) that she and PreciousCricket are hoping to attend and that they will try and get Mona (MBSNew1) to come along.  She also tried to get Bojo129 but Bojo is tied up on weekends these days.  So you put all that together with our beloved regulars and it can't help but be a grand get-together.

We are looking for a couple more locations that will put up with our extended luncheons so that we can vary things now and again.  They are so flexible at Trina's and we really like that but it would be nice to have something different now and again.  Tom's Farms is our fun picnic place when it's neither too hot nor too cold and we should be able to be back there for April or May.  Maybe we could try meeting on the "mall" right by the Mission Inn in Riverside one of these times.  Let me know what you think.  People could bring lunch or buy it from various places there on the mall.  here's a really good "soup and half-sandwich" that would choke a horse and some others, as well.  The Inn itself is lovely but the last luncheon that was held there was a huge shock when a bill for $34 per person arrived at the end.  I know the organizer was just as shocked, bless her heart.

CARING FOR OUR FRIENDS

Not all of the following people are members of our luncheon group.  Some are, but others are part of our larger group of online friends.

RosalynG has recently been diagnosed with a recurrence of her breast cancer, which they now say is bilateral.  She is in radiation, doing well, and keeping up her fighting spirit.  Keep her in your prayers!  PerkyCA is celebrating seven years CANCER FREE after breast cancer and she says Ros can do the same.  Rosalyn and Toner want to have the luncheon at their home in Coto de Caza once the weather turns a bit warmer and I'll keep you posted on that.  They are planning to sell their Orange County business and move up to Fresno before too awfully long and frankly, I'm not sure I'm willing to allow them to leave this area.  Please help me gang up on them.  Whining might work?

BarbyLu7 and CIvey48939 (Carl) are continuing with cancer treatment and need our continuing prayers and support.  Details and regular updates are posted in the Hearth folder in SeniorNet on AOL.  If you need a link to it, send me an email.  If you aren't on AOL and would like to receive updates about either or both of them, let me know and I'll contact the appropriate people.

Special prayers are going out for Jim, who is the son of our pal, InkSoup (Max).  Jim is also battling cancer, has just had his fourth chemo, and he's another fighter.  Jim and I are birthday twins although he's quite a bit younger.  Max and Jim both rave about Jim's wonderful, supportive wife.  They live in Rhode Island, so if you have a luncheon there, you can invite them and hand out some hugs from me!

DesertLady33 (Dee) still needs our prayers and support for her heart problem.  No answers yet from the cardiologist.
I already sent out the latest news to this list about AWalls1050 (Annie... Anita... Nita), so I'll just put a little plea here to keep her in your prayers.  If you want to be added to the list to receive regular updates from her daughter, write to [email protected].  You can also write to Annie at [email protected] (her AOL account is temporarily suspended) and her oldest daughter, Amy, will take them to the hospital and read them to her.  And, again, her closest online friend, Candy0Lane, wants us to remember Annie as "The Eagle" and to hope and pray that our Eagle flies again soon.  Updates are also posted in AOL's SeniorNet Hearth folder (in the Communities area) for Annie.

HamlinePL (Frank) had to miss the February luncheon because of a birthday party for his grandchild but he hopes to be back with us soon.  He's going through some cardioversions and could use our continuing prayers and support.

I am told that I will probably be giving back the oxygen equipment soon because I don't need it anymore!  My new pulmonologist also says that he believes he can fix up the lung damage so that it's hardly even noticeable!  So thanks again, pals, for all your support and prayers through all this!

LadyApril1 was kind enough to send me the following information to share here:    For those of you who knew Sorocava... Mitchel Ferris... Mitch from Attleboro...  I am just passing this along. I have checked Boston.com ... and nothing today in Death Notices. No doubt it's in his local newspaper. His brother is alive now, over 90, a former MIT Professor and a Belmont resident.  I can only give you an address should you wish to to send a message of Condolence! Address: Mr. Fred A Ferris, 108 Rutledge Road, Belmont, Massachusetts 02478 . Mitch's granddaughter is in Wellesley and children in the Attleboro area but unpublished telephone numbers, etc. I shall send a note to Belmont! Cordially, Mary

HAPPY NEWS!!!!!

HUGE congrats to Jim and Marcy (Moonflwr03) who are engaged and getting ready to be married.  This is a marvelously romantic story that you will be able to read when they are FRONT PAGE NEWS on Valentine's Day in the Suffolk (Virginia) Times or Reporter (Marcy will let me know which one).  I don't know Jim, but Marcy is a long-time friend and I know she has marvelous taste and also that Jim is one lucky man to get her.

This is a surprise graphic for you, Marcy!  Right-click to save it ... it's all one piece.  If it looks "woozly" on your screen, let me know and I'll send you a better copy.. AOL's compression does that wavy stuff.

In the past, all the people I mentioned were from the AOL bunch, but now I will start adding on the end part of the email address for those who are not.  With an extra space so that screen name harvesters won't pick them up.  Check out  SeniorNet on the Web  ... you won't be sorry!  You can either register or try it out as a guest.  You will need to pick a screen name to use and it's a good idea to pick the same name  you use on AOL so you don't confuse me... LOL!!!  If not, try to get something similar if you can!

The web bunch is getting up a bash in Tucson in April and it sure looks like a good time is in store.  You will find all the information here... and TIME IS RUNNING OUT!!!

I hope I didn't forget anyone!

We sure hope YOU get a chance to be with us next time!

Please go back to the main SGGAF page for address, directions, and other general information about our luncheons.

It is always so sweet to see old friends, meet new friends, and to put faces together with screen names for online pals we've talked to but have not met before.  If you weren't able to attend,

WE MISSED YOU!

These pictures are courtesy of LadyZinnia, Lotsa000, and RodWoods.  VistaGal always has nice photos on her site, also, although he has not been able to attend our luncheons for some time.  You'll find a link to her site at the end of these pages.

All of these pictures have the captions ATTACHED to them, so they will stay with the photos if you want to right-click and download any of them to your computer.

I always put these photos up two or three to a page, so that I can leave them a little larger and still have them load a little more quickly into your browser.  Just keep using the "NEXT" button on each page to see more pictures.
