First the report... then the pictures... hang in there!

What a marvelous gathering we had at Tom's!  Unless the weather fails to cooperate, we really get a nice bunch when we meet there.  This time it was Dog Day Afternoon... LOLOL!!!  We had four dogs visiting with us, which is one of the reasons people like to meet at Tom's... to bring their pets.

Before I go any further with the report from this luncheon, I need to give the information about the NEXT one, which will be this Saturday, June 1, noonish, at the home of TonerKing( Bill Gast) and RosalynG in Coto de Caza.  RSVP is required on this one so that they will know how many to expect and also so that they can let the guard gate know who will be there.   Email them at [email protected] and [email protected].  And please be assured that you ARE invited... Toner and Ros are lovely people and have been wanting to have a luncheon at their house for the past year and a half.  They had this luncheon planned in October of 2000 and the weather messed that up and then Rosalyn got her cancer diagnosis and entered into that fight.  She has come through like the trouper that she is, so we will be having lots to celebrate on Saturday!

June 1 Luncheon Information and maps

Sorry I'm slow putting up the pictures (again)... the semester is nearly over and I'm hammering on my final projects for school.  Can't let up this late in the game.  I have already won SEVEN scholarships and many awards, including making the Dean's List for being 4.0 again, being chosen as Student of Distinction by the faculty, and an award for having over 200 hours of community service this semester.  Pardon me for my incessant bragging, but I am just so pround and so grateful to be able to do it and also grateful to all of you for your support and encouragement.

Our long-time friend, PollyB, has been in the hospital several times over the last couple of months and could use some prayers and support .  We are really hoping that she will be well enough to come to the luncheon at Bill and Rosalyn's this Saturday. Polly and Bill are some of the original SeniorNetters.  They belonged way back when there were only 19 people!

I got some sad news from Judie (ShyRedFox) about her son, Jeff. Judie recently moved and her computer won't work at her new place, so I told her I would post her update about Jeff and her request for prayer for Jeff and Kelly. Judie could also use some support and prayers.

Dear Friends,

We learned last Wednesday that Jeff's cancer has returned.  Same lung, and just as big as it was last time.  It grew to that size in just three months.

Could I ask for prayers again?  For Jeff, and for me, 'cause I'm not doing too well with this either, and for Kelly, who has been longing for a child . . .

Jeff's head MRI showed no brain cancer, and his bone scan showed that the cancer hasn't spread anywhere else.  He will not have to go to Houston.  His oncologist has conferred with Dr. Patel at MDAnderson Cancer Center, and they had nothing new to offer.  So, they are going to start him on the same protocol that was so successful prior to his surgery.

But first, he and Kelly are finally taking their trip to Disney World this Saturday.

Thanks for your prayers and your support and your love.  You're the best!

Hugs,

Judie

TweetyGma4U (Jeanette) can also use our prayers and support.  She is on a heart event monitor for a month. The doctors have found three small problems which normally would not be a problem except to a person with asthma.  Jeannette said it seems that the drugs for the heart interfere with the asthma medications, so looks like she is sort of stuck. She will let us know the test results when she gets them and what the doctors plan from that point.
Again, throw in some extra prayers and support and encouragement for BarbyLu7.  After a really rough time, Barby is out of the hospital and halfway through her treatment.  She's a real fighter and still has her wonderful attitude.

Inksoup's son, Jim, let me know on April 12 that he finished up with chemo and had been in for the regular ct scan.  His tumor has increased in size, about 50% bigger. Pretty scary stuff!  The lymph nodes have continued to shrink. He was to see the radiation oncologist the following week and then start radiation, but I have not heard an update since then.  Keep those prayers coming!

I hope I have not missed anyone and please let me know if I did.
Smoke Murphy is probably arriving in Washington D.C. with Run for The Wall as I am writing this. There are a lot of great pictures on the Run for The Wall site and it's really worth a visit to see them.

I went to a marvelous art workshop in San Diego on May 18 and am scheduled to attend three more over the summer. LimeyV (Ann) came all the way over from Arizona to attend with me for the first one and Lotsa00 will be attending in June and July. We had a great time and a great visit. The weather was cool and cloudy (marine layer) but we thought that was wonderful, especially for Ann who had come from 100+ heat in Glendale, Arizona.

In the past, all the people I mentioned were from the AOL bunch, but now I add on the end part of the email address for those who are not.  With an extra space so that screen name harvesters won't pick them up.  Check out  SeniorNet on the Web  ... you won't be sorry!  You can either register or try it out as a guest.  You will need to pick a screen name to use and it's a good idea to pick the same name you use on AOL so you don't confuse me... LOL!!!  If not, try to get something similar if you can!

We sure hope YOU get a chance to be with us next time!

Please go back to the main SGGAF page for address, directions, and other general information about our luncheons.

We always miss (and gossip about) those who can't attend... and we always have a good time with those who CAN.

These pictures are courtesy of LadyZinnia.  VistaGal always has nice photos on her site, also, but she wasn't there this time.  You'll find a link to her site at the end of these pages.

All of these pictures have the captions ATTACHED to them, so they will stay with the photos if you want to right-click and download any of them to your computer.

I always put these photos up two or three to a page, so that I can leave them a little larger and still have them load a little more quickly into your browser.  Just keep using the "NEXT" button on each page to see more pictures.
