First the report... then the pictures... hang in there!

A bazillion thanks to Bonkers987 (Bob), who suggested having our luncheon at Tom's Farm.  The weather could not have been more perfect and we got rave reviews afterwards.  We started at 11:00 AM (and some were there even earlier) and the last person left at 4:30 PM.

You probably already noticed that we have changed our regular luncheon day to the FIRST Saturday of each month.  And we will try to have it at Tom's Farm again next month (June 2) if the weather cooperates and isn't too hot.

We were especially happy to have two WAY out of towners attending this time — ShourCap (aka JoAnne and Sammani) from Eureka, and WildRosey from way up in Washington State.  It was also great to meet EBob1533 and Camelot479 (Heidi) for the first time.

Heidi joined us in spite of being on crutches following surgery.

The "old gang" was out in force, too.  Ros is still looking marvelous and keeping up the good fight.  Her chemo has been slowed down a bit because of some white count problems and your prayers are really helping and really appreciated.

Everyone enjoyed a great visit along with the picnic area with all its beautiful shade trees, the music from the band, the food, the shopping, and just a good time in general.  We sure hope YOU get a chance to join us next time!

We are excited for Smoke Murphy who is leaving on May 16 for another ride to Washington D.C. on the Run For The Wall.  This ride includes riders from all over the country riding to meet in Washington D.C. to honor our POW's , KIA's, and MIA's.  If you'd like more information, go to Run For The Wall.  Their mission:  To promote healing among Vietnam veterans and their families and friends, to call for an accounting of all Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action (POW/MIA), and to honor the memory of those Killed in Action (KIA).

MciScot had an excused absence  (LOL!!!) — he was in his kilts at Prado Park for the annual Highland Games.  Wish we had known sooner... we would scheduled the luncheon there so that we could have gone to see the games and also to get a load of Mac in his kilts!  He promises to give us notice way in advance next time and perhaps I can sweet talk him into giving me a photo to post here, at least!  Whaddaya say, Mac?

We are saddened to hear that Dick Stayton (RAStayton), a regular at our luncheons and a long-time dear friend to many of us, had a stroke in late April and remains in a coma.  Our prayers go out to Dick and the people who love him.

We have just found out from Podunker3 (Gladys) that Jim Joy (Jajoy) is in the hospital.  Both of them could use our prayers and support, also.  We have no further details at this time.

Please go back to the main SGGAF page for address, directions, and other general information about our luncheons.

We always miss (and gossip about) those who can't attend... and we always have a good time with those who CAN.

Thanks to Charlie (CWP157) for bringing a photo of his completed quilt to share with everyone.  It was mailed to West Virginia on Monday, May 7, as a remembrance to Charlie's niece.  Charlie and his son have been to West Virginia and back since our last luncheon.  They stopped along the way, also, to meet more of our online pals and Charlie reports that it was a wonderful trip.
