First the report... then the pictures... hang in there!

Well, if you weren't there, you sure did miss a marvelous luncheon at the home of TonerKing (Bill) and RosalynG.  They live in Coto de Caza, a beautiful gated community near Laguna, California. They home is so beautiful (you'll be seeing some photos later), their yard is gorgeous (ditto), the weather could not have been more perfect, and they really know how to throw a nice party.

It was so nice to finally get to meet HappyBill (aka KokomoBill) and his lovely lady, Jeanette. Now we know why he's so happy!  She is a lovely person, as well as being really beautiful and just nice to be around.  Jeanette is a realtor with PCM Resales, so you know who you can call if you are looking for California property, especially in the Orange County beach areas.  I hope we get to see more of them, and I think we will, because Bill and Jeanette have suggested having a get-together on the beach at their house on Lake Mission Viejo.  Bill is originally from Indiana, as you probably already guessed. He is a retired marketing specialist, having served in sales, customer service, and public relations. He is also an author and you can visit his website at Bill's Home Page (http://www.netusa1.net/~bill .)

Also really nice to meet Bill's step-father, "Cookie" Overmyer.  What a grand guy he is!  I hope I have it together like he does when I reach my nineties!  I'm also really proud of Bill and Rosalyn for being so good to Cookie!

Terri was missed (she had to be away) but RustyDog  (Mark) came along anyway and again brought their dog, Rusty Dog. He said he was really missing Terri, and I can sure believe it.

One of the people who gets our luncheon reports but has not been able to attend yet (she lives in Texas), sent along a picture of her little dog. We seem to be pet people, so I wanted to share it with you. This is CandyOLane's little 4-lb Toby. Candy said the vet said one of those pounds is HAIR! You will be seeing Toner and Rosalyn's little bichon frise in the pictures, also.  The pets at the party got acquainted and had a great time visiting, also.

Is this a cute dog or what?????

All of us who have pets or have had them in the past will be able to understand how hurt and angry VistaGal is right now.  Someone shot her two little Pomeranians on Sunday, May 19, in their back yard.  The poms actually belonged to her son but she has been caring for them for a long time and loved them.  The police are investigating and I hope they find the people who did it and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.  This is one of those completely senseless crimes (not that any crime really makes sense) and it seems to me it was just someone messing around and taking lives for the pure "joy" of it.

Besides being a special luncheon, this luncheon was a rather special celebration.  Bill and Rosalyn originally were putting together a cruise in late 2000 and planned this luncheon in conjunction with that for October 28, 2000, but cancer intervened.  Rosalyn has been through one heck of a fight in between, but she won and so they got the stuff out of the cupboards, did a lot of other nice stuff, and threw that very same luncheon... just a little bit later than originally planned. The luncheon had a nautical motif and everything was done up in blue and white.  There were a lot of extra touches that really made it special and you'll be seeing those, too.  Here's a copy of one of the nametags:

Bill manned the barbecue and they provided barbecued hot dogs, hamburgers, and chicken breasts with all the fixins. They also had tons of chip and dip , mixed nuts, and other great stuff, plus drinks and utensils and all of that.  Guests brought baked beans (yayyyyyy, Barney!  They were great!), a terrific salad that Jeanette brought, cakes, pies, and I can't remember what all else. I only know I was so stuffed I didn't even eat dinner. And THEN they sent home a huge care package with me.

They have such a beautiful home and yard and I took pictures all over the place. Hope you enjoy them! And there are more surprises that I'm not mentioning yet, but you'll see the pictures.

I have finally finished up the semester and am enjoying a little time off before summer session begins.  Just got back from another art workshop in San Diego.  Lotsa000 (Nancy) did the driving and we had a great visit and also had a great time at the workshop.  I am so blessed to have so many good friends!
PollyB was planning to come to the luncheon  but ended up in the hospital again, for another week. Polly, my friend, I hope you know we are all sending good thoughts and vibes and our prayers are out there for you.  I hope you're feeling better by now and that we will see you soon.
We all need to send up some prayers for Honey Yates ([email protected]) .  Honey has been having some really bad times both personally and medically, for at least the past year, and now her daughter died about six weeks ago, after being ill for about four weeks.  The death of a child at any age is probably the hardest thing there is for a mother.  Honey, I hope things get better for you soon and that you will be able to join us one of these times.  And we all send you our love and some huge hugs.

Fondest congratulations to Scutchseek (Bob) and MBSNew1 (Mona) who married and are now living in Washington.  We sure will miss seeing Mona at our luncheons, but maybe they will stop by when they snowbird to AZ!  We wish you both a long and happy life together.

The happy newlyweds!

I hope I have not missed anyone and please let me know if I did.
In the past, all the people I mentioned were from the AOL bunch, but now I add on the end part of the email address for those who are not.  With an extra asterisk at the front so that screen name harvesters won't pick them up.  Check out  SeniorNet on the Web  ... you won't be sorry!  You can either register or try it out as a guest.  You will need to pick a screen name to use and it's a good idea to pick the same name you use on AOL so you don't confuse me... LOL!!!  If not, try to get something similar!  Check out the "Geographic Communities" !

We sure hope YOU get a chance to be with us next time!

Please go back to the main SGGAF page for address, directions, and other general information about our luncheons.

These pictures are courtesy of LadyZinnia.  VistaGal always has nice photos on her site, also, but she wasn't there this time.  You'll find a link to her site at the end of these pages.

All of these pictures have the captions ATTACHED to them, so they will stay with the photos if you want to right-click and download any of them to your computer.

I always put these photos up two or three to a page, so that I can leave them a little larger and still have them load a little more quickly into your browser.  Just keep using the "NEXT" button on each page to see more pictures.
