First the report... then the pictures... hang in there!

This is kind of a long one this time.. lots of news to report!

Sorry this is two weeks late in getting put up here.  Not my usual speed, but I have been immersed in studying for finals, taking finals, and finishing up porfolios and final projects for the past two weeks.  Now I have two weeks off and then I start the Winter intersession with just one class.  I'm glad for a rest.  I'm going to brag that I'm 4.0 for the semester, but only for the purpose of letting everyone know what is possible!  I received awards at a banquet on Sunday, December 9, for making the Dean's List and also for having over 100 hours of Community Service this semester and I ended up being considered for 22 scholarships.  I will know about those in late May and believe me, if they have another ceremony then, I will invite EVERYONE!

It was nice to meet newcomers RMcKin3084 (RJ) from the AOL SeniorNet group and a lovely new couple, RustyDog214 @webtv.net (Mark) and Terri218 @webtv.net (Theresa) who are from the SeniorNet bunch on the net.  I add the extra space in those email addresses so that email "harvesters" can't grab the email addresses when I put up the complete one.

If you aren't familiar with that, you really ought to go there and get acquainted.  Go to SeniorNet on the Web Many AOL SeniorNetters also go there.  The site has lots of good information, plus TONS of great forums and a chat room to boot.  Those of you who know Marciei from AOL will see her there, also.  I actually don't know how she keeps up with all the work she does for SeniorNet!  The chat room doesn't have all the bells and whistles of AOL but all the people there and everywhere else on that site are the same kind of wonderful folk you find in SeniorNet on AOL.  Usually, all the people I mention are from the AOL bunch, but now I will start adding on the end part for those who are not.  With that extra space I mentioned, of course.  Check out SeniorNet on the web... you won't be sorry!  You can either register or try it out as a guest.  You will need to pick a screen name to use and it's a good idea to pick the same name you use on AOL so you don't confuse me... LOL!!!  If not, try to get something similar if you can!

The web bunch is getting up a bash in Tucson in April and it sure looks like a good time is in store.  You will find all the information here...

MayverNV let us know a few days ago that his lovely wife, JoAnn, had  lung surgery on December 13 , came through like a champ, and is recovering well.  They are such a devoted couple.  Again, for those who don't know them, Mayer and Jo were the first couple from SeniorNet to meet and marry, many years ago.  They are a joy to everyone and their devotion to one another is a wonderful thing to witness.  Thanks for all your prayers and support and encouragement and keep it coming!

LimeyV's open house in Glendale, AZ, on December 9 was a rousing success, as usual.  Twice as many people showed up as were expected but she's a wonderful hostess and managed the overflow.  You can find pictures on Warren's wonderful web site here...

HoneyV reported in and told me that the doc has given her the okay to go back to a normal life after all these months.  He said she will be able to go back up to the mountains next summer and do all the things she did before her heart attack and she is looking forward to it after a long, hot, boring summer in the valley in AZ.  Keep up the good work, Jackie!

Got some more good news... HamlinePL (Frank) made it through  his heart surgery and is on his way back to good health.  Frank was in Clinic at La Jolla CA for 8 days. They did open heart surgery on him and repaired the valves. He was in a room overlooking the ocean and Torrey Pines golf Course, the same room Mother Teresa had when she was there.  He says it's much better being at home, though.  He appreciated emails from everyone and he said he got them from all over.  He asked me to let y'all know that he is back among the living but he feels like a truck hit him.  Those operations where they go messing around breaking into the chest are really something and we're glad he made it through well and wish him a speedy recovery.  Frank lives in Canyon Lake or Canyon Country, CA... I always forget which is the one somewhere near Temecula.  The other one is up near The Valley somewhere.

Jacquie (BusyBee808 of Escondido, CA) had surgery on Sept. 4 and is recovered and back to work after six weeks off.  She said she was able to enjoy the last two weeks of that.  Then she went back to work and a couple of weeks later had to have emergency laser surgery for a tear in the retina.  She said she was very lucky and didn't have to miss any more work with that one.
Suzanne (SLena78475 @aol.com) is in the diagnostic process and about to have a biopsy of the female organs.  A lot of us know how it feels to be where she is right now and I hope everyone will offer her their prayers, support, encouragement, information about their good results, good vibes, and whatever YOU would like to receive or did receive when you were in that situation.  This is a really scary time and support from all our friends is beyond valuation.
Suz lives in Long Beach, CA.

I was just about to post these pages when I heard back from Podunker (Gladys).  She had sent me a congrats about school and I asked back about her and about Jim (JaJoy) because I'm way behind on keeping up with all my friends.  Gladys let me know that she had a colonoscopy this afternoon and so far the results are okay.  She said that Jim recently had another spell in the hospital but is out now. He's confined to his house because of snow, but for a couple of weeks after he got out of the hospital, he was told not to leave home. Prayers and good wishes are certainly appropriate for these good friends, too!
I was so glad to hear because so many people had been asking about them.
I hope I didn't forget anyone!

We sure hope YOU get a chance to be with us next time!

WE MISSED YOU!

These pictures are courtesy of LadyZinnia.  VistaGal always has nice photos on her site, also, although he has not been able to attend our luncheons for some time.  You'll find a link to her site at the end of these pages.  Please update your link for her, by the way... it's new.

All of these pictures have the captions ATTACHED to them, so they will stay with the photos if you want to right-click and download any of them to your computer.

I always put these photos up two or three to a page, so that I can leave them larger and still have them load quickly into your browser.  Just keep using the "NEXT" button on each page to see more pictures.
