Welcome to my new Column. For those of you who don't know me let me introduce my self. I am Gonzo the Green Fingered Peacock. My main Hobby (apart from wearing Hats) is to loving tend my plot. They say an Englishman's home is his castle, well a Welshman's Van is his County Park.
Today I'm going to give a few tips on creating a lush pasture on top of your van. This unusual Location will certainly get all your friends talking.

 
Tips for a Successful Roof top Lawn
1) Safety. This is of paramount importance, DO NOT attempt to sow your lawn whilst the vehicle is in motion
2) Discretion. Wait until the owner of the vehicle is out, this will save them interrupting you and will ensure they are surprised at the results of your work when they return
3) You will need to construct a suitable edging to keep the soil from being blow away when you drive off. Use some lengths of timber to enclose the soil in a box type arrangement
4) Soil - to ensure a lush lawn only use top quality soil, remember this will be the foundation of your new grass
5) Seed v's Turf. Although Turf is quicker to lay, It is more expensive. If you have a week or so use grass seed, this will give an quicker growth rate plus you will have the satisfation of seeing you hard work come to fruition
6) Feed regularly. It is essential to water and feed your lawn. For maximum growth rate, water every day
7) Sit back and relax on your new lawn

Care for your lawn.
In order to keep your lawn at its best, continue to water regularly and don't drive under any low bridges.
