[Nature Calls]

[It’s fourth period. You’ve just finished eating lunch. You drank a Coke. Now you’re going to pay. You’re going to pay in a way that is truly, truly horrible. With a feeling of dread in your gut, you ask your teacher to be excused, and you exit the room. Your own private death march has begun. You walk down the empty hallways towards the bathroom, your stomach in knots, beads of sweat breaking out on your forehead, as you grow nearer by the second to your hellish fate. And there you are, staring at a door with the dreaded word "restroom" on it. With one last sigh, followed by a deep breath which you will hold for as long as possible, you enter. The sight that greets you is appalling. Urinals. Urinals filled with urine. Urinals filled with a lot of urine. Not just one person’s urine, but the urine of hundreds of high school students. Urine that has been sitting and festering for hours. Hours! So you decide to pass on the urinal idea, and use a stall. Big mistake. When you enter the stall you see an even more shocking and repulsive sight. Not just urine, but excrement. That’s right, feces. Poop. Waste. And not just poop. No, somebody left a special treat just for you. You are the lucky winner of... a toilet full of poop and pee that’s been sitting for hours! You lucky duck. But seriously, folks... the situation in the boys bathroom has really gotten out of hand. You may have read the quote from the senior in our last issue complaining that he was tired of the immaturity at this school. Brave Talk agrees. This school is doing a wonderful (comparatively, anyway) job of teaching us all English and math, but what about common courtesy? What about behaving like a human being? We’re supposed to be preparing for the real world here, but we don’t even know how to flush a toilet! How hard is it? You finish, you zip up, if you’re a moron you clean up, and then you hit that little lever. It’s not complicated. But seriously people, grow up. Let’s be adults. We all want to be treated with respect, so lets earn it. All you need to do is flush.]
