Will my modified detector still work as a radar detector? No, your modified detector will not work as a detector since it is now emitting a signal. That's great! But... sometimes that police radar is a little
quicker especially with all the technological advancements in
Police Speed Measurement. Commercial Radar Jammers? They don't work half the time. Trust me, I've researched it. Why don't they work you ask? Well, thats because those commercial jammers are passive. Basically it means that they DO NOT transmit a signal. They are designed to receive the radar signal, and ATTEMPT to mix the signal with "white noise". They aren't 100% guaranteed. That's why the manufacturers offer to pay for your speeding ticket. They sell you a jammer for about $300 and will pay your $100 fine. They still come out ahead. On the other hand, an ACTIVE jammer transmits a radar signal which is received by the radar unit. Where can you find an ACTIVE radar jammer you ask? Good luck. Active jammers are a thing of the past. The FCC will not issue a manufacturers license to build and market them anymore. They were discontinued some time back and I don't think they'll ever be available commercially.
However, you can use this information to modify your radar detector into an ACTIVE jammer.
