Soulmates

I've found this to be very interesting , the whole topic of soulmates. What started me wondering about soulmates and if there is such a thing? The Simpsons , yes it was Homer himself that got my brain thinking. The episode where Homer eats the chili pepper and looks like he's on an acid trip and has to find his soulmate. How do you find your soulmate? Some people I've talked to said it's really hard and that you don't. Is your soulmate the person you die with? One person said you find your soulmate when you die , that it's the person that you die with. Does your soulmate share the same intrests as you , or do they just understand you like no one else ever has? Another person I talked to said "you and your soulmate have to connect with each other on a higher level." Yet another person said " I think it's a gut feeling.. a feeling that never goes away when you are around that person or just thinking about them." Homer realized that the diffrences between him and Marge are only skin deep , that they have more in common than they realize. So if I find a person who I have tons in common with , more than music and trivial things like that , does that mean that person is my soulmate? Or what if I meet a guy who can read me like a book and tell when something is bugging me and totaly understand , is that guy my soulmate? But then again some people might think that we don't even have soulmates , that the idea of soulmates is a mental thing.
