Goldberg threw a fit all day Monday about the plans for him on Nitro that evening. Apparently, the original idea was for him to just do a clean job to Booker in the main event, but he didn?t agree with that. As a result, they had to come up with the illogical and convoluted angle earlier in the show where he beat Booker almost into a coma but didn?t win the belt because Booker hadn?t tapped or been pinned. One source said Johnny Ace spent most of the afternoon with him trying to convince him that it was important for him to do the right thing, and as a result Ace didn?t have time to come up with good finishes for most of the other matches aside from the opener. Vince Russo also kept to himself most of the day and was said to be pretty unhappy about Goldberg?s various demands.
